Whoever the Mod was that merged this was pretty generous to rename the Fire Stotts Now thread to include the title of what should have just been one person's post. Less is more. It's just my opinion but I'd like to go back to just "Fire Stotts Now"
I wanted to honor Stotts since he is the ONLY coach in the ENTIRE history of the NBA to accomplish that achievement.
Loved your post but it was just that, a post that belonged in this thread and the thread name that has been here for over four years definitely didn't need to change because of one really good post.
I agree that I loved his post... I disagree that it needed to be combined with this thread. That had a lot of good information that'll get lost in the thousands of posts this thread generates. However, I'm not gonna lose sleep over it. Not a huge deal in the long run. Anyway. Fire stotts!
Players are not like children. They are grown businessmen who are elite at what they do. Jesus Christ.
huh??? Grown businessmen? Most don't have college degrees because they hit the draft early and are given big money with no business acumen. Why do you think they need agents and financeers? Why stories of pro athletes being taken advantage of and losing their money? yes there are the kobe’s of the NBA but most need to be led by the hand.... most haven't a clue what to invest in without a professional businessman to help them... Most need structure to be laid out before them.
Question... The game has changed a bit for us with the newer, younger guys playing more and i'm seeing more motion in the offense and better team defense. With the guys we have out, the bulk of them are out for a while. Is this trend going to continue? Could this be the turning point forcing Stott's and the team to take it to the next level regarding team ball? That last game was simply beautiful to watch. Injuries, no injuries. We have shown we can play well regardless of the opponent. It's up to Stott's to recognize this and force it to be consistent, is it not? I see this as a huge fork in the road and the next 10 or so games can determine his future. Will he instill discipline to maintain the same type of focus, energy, STYLE and consistency we saw, or will he back off and let our leaders play however they like?
Road trips have historically been turning points for teams throughout the years. This one might be like many others. I certainly hope so. Go Blazers! Kjironman is a fan!!!
