Feeling defensive much? I didn't say anything about trading either. Why not jump at that "trade either Plumlee or Davis" mess?

Sorry, this argument just doesn't fly. All of the players you named (aside from Kaman/Rolo) have ONLY played under Stotts. To hold them up as evidence of Stotts greatness implies that they wouldn't be good players under any other coach, and I think that's patently wrong. Dame would be Dame regardless of who coaches him. Ditto for CJ. Will and Nic are playing BETTER under different coaches.
LMA had a "career year" here because he played his entire career here. And it wasn't a very good career - he was an inefficient volume shooter.
Wes had a career year because he played all but one season of his career here. Wes' improvement was due to his own hard work and personality.
    Rolo was average.

We've seen so many other teams in the league fail to develop young talent. How many other coaching staffs could have taken that 30 win team in 2011 to win ~140 games, two playoff appearances, and a playoff series win in 3 seasons?

Players obviously improve on their own, but I feel like this staff has maximized the talent given to them by management every year so far.

That's a good question. Perhaps Olshey needs to look towards the NCAA. In your opinion, which college coaches would improve our current roster?

We'll have to agree to disagree. I think at least 20 of the 30 coaches could have done an equal or better job. I don't feel like our talent has ever been maximized.

To be fair, I don't think you've ever NOT liked a Blazer. I can't recall you ever being critical about anything Blazer-related.

We all know he won't get fired. But let's say we don't extend his contract this summer.

Who would you rather have? And I really don't think Thibs/JVG are realistic options.

The way they deal with screens is the way they are coached to. They are coached to force that midrange jumper. There are certain guards you don't do that to, Chris Paul being one of them. The midrange is where he feasts on defenses.

the problem here is our big man does not come up as much as he should to at least try to contest that shot. Rolo had the same issue. Don't think it's a coaching thing as much as personnel.

That's not the problem at all. If the big man doesn't come up then that allows the guard to go underneath the screen. Why are they always going over the top? Because they are coached to you that's why. Why don't we ever double team the guard on that pick & roll? Because they are not coached to that's why. Why doesn't our big hedge anymore? Because they are not coached to that's why. Terry Stotts is horrible at coaching pick and roll defense.

I like Stotts fine. However, I'm partial to Thibs, so I would not be unhappy with the switch.

Thibs did turn Noah into a useful offensive player, and he developed Taj Gibson into a two-way player. He also managed to create offenses with Gasol and Boozer. People underrate Thibs' skills as an offensive coach. You don't coach for decades without at least learning something about both ends of the court.

At the very least, Thibs would give the team a good chance to win every game by keeping the score close and making it hard for opponents to score.

Here are teams that will potentially have openings at the end of the season.

BKN, NYK, PHL, TOR, MIL, WAS, HOU, MEM, MIN, LAL, PHX

    And then POR.

And you HAVE to think that Thibs is at the top of the list for all those teams.

What would entice him to join us?
