His game is just too one-dimensional. He's not a three point shooter. He hasn't had much success with driving into the lane. When his mid-range jumper isn't falling.....
When Henderson is open, he literally takes one dribble in from the three point line to instead take "the worst shot in basketball". That's just not going to fly here. The guy can seriously jump though, and he plays hard, I'll give him that.
I think it's because hes not a catch and shoot player. Or a 3pt shooter. So for him, the worst shot in basketball is a better shot than a catch and shoot 3. The dribble is what gives him rhythm. I like him, but I want to replace him with dougie McBuckets, and give more minutes to Crabbe.
He is the only guard we have that can back someone down in the post though. But for the future, I don't see him here.
Really? How do you know Ryan Anderson sucks defensively? How much film have you watched of his defense? Overall he's -.2%, which indicates that he's average. Damian Lillard was +3.8, which is not good. Festus averaged 15 points per 36 last year, while shooting 55%. Mason averaged 13 while shooting 52%. Cole averaged 15 while shooting 57% (and 71% from the FT line). Pretty silly to say they are "way worse offensively than Plumlee". (aminu is not even in the picture since he doesn't play center).
Per 36 stats for players like that are very misleading... they play 13 and 16 minutes a game respectively. Of course their per 36 is gonna look good.
I highly doubt that they would be averaging those numbers effectively on a winning team while playing 36 minutes.. playing against the other starts for 36 minutes...
It's not misleading unless they've played so little that it's not a reliable representation of what they produce (like if they played 30 minutes total in a season). The only way to cross compare players statistics is to normalize it to an equal number of minutes. Go ahead and think they wouldn't average that much as a starter, but those stats would presented to counter the claim that they were "much worse offensively than Plumlee". But you obviously missed that point.
I was talking to Craig Smith earlier today, and he's looking to make a comeback! Rhino for 14th man? Hehe.
Luke babbitt averaged 14 points and 6 rebounds per 36 while shooting 40% from 3pt land. Let's sign him!!! His per 36 is good!!!
I can post bullshit players all day with a good per 36. Using Per 36 to figure out if a player is good, is like trying to solve a complex problem with elementary algebra, when you really need an algorithm. Per 36 is bullshit. The eye test can tell a lot more.
16 pts and 12 rebounds on 51% shooting. Guess what center that is? Kaman, last year when he played 70 something games. I think I've made my point.
