I'm saying Shelden can't carry Bynum's jock and Foye needs the ball to be effective. Poor choices to put with Kobe

QUOTE (GMJigga)

The way I see it, the youth I've put around Kobe is established talent (The rookie, Yi, has not played yet, but his skill set is known), and not potential guys like Sean Williams, Saer Scene, Cedric Simmons, et al. The veteran post player is also a ring holder. I like the way it shapes up.

With Kobe and Rasheed, you have two guys who are ready to lead you to the playoffs and a title run. The rest of your starting roster isnt ready for that. I would have surrounded Kobe and Rasheed around vets who have proven they can give you what you need.

As for Yi's skill set being proven, that is fine and all but he has no NBA experience. I wouldnt be counting on a guy who barely had a play run for him on Guangdong to hold down the SF position.

    Rasheed Wallace ~= Lamar Odom

The rest of your team is way, way young, just like the real Lakers. So there's no reason to believe Kobe wouldn't demand a trade from your team. Seriously, it's eerily similar to the real Lakers.

"False analogy. Argument by anaology is often of the weakest strategies and is highly vulnerable to attack. A false analogy entails erroneously suggesting that two people, situations, or issues are analogoues or comparable in certain ways...In order for an analogy to work, it must match up in all significant areas with whatever it is being compared to; otherwise, it produces a kind of false coherence that is at best lazy thinking and at worst downright misleading"

So you're saying my group of young talent is the same as what the lakers have? Saying all young players are alike is what the above paragraph mentions: lazy thinking. Look at the actual players you're trying to analyze instead of making broad generalizations.

Come on now bud. Shelden Williams plays for the Hawks. Randy Foye plays for the TWolves. Neither of those players have ever sniffed the playoffs. And anyone who watches basketball will tell you that Yi is a project. So right now, you've got 4 NBA ready players, no real center and a point guard who needs the ball in his hands to do damage. How is that going to work with Kobe's ball-dominating offense? Sheed is great, but he hasn't been a good second option on offense since Portland. You're going to have trouble scoring, and you're going to have trouble defending. Why wouldn't Kobe demand a trade?

I don't see how Foye works with Kobe. He was a good value pick at this stage, but he just doesn't fit with Kobe imho.

You guys are making it seem like a score-oriented PG is totally incapable of passing the ball. Hyperbolies on the other end of the spectrum, "Ason Kidd," are also fictional.

Kobe has no help, thats why he wants out. He's got a **** load more talent on this team. If the one-man kobe show can make it to the first round in the west, a much better lineup will get him farther. He wouldn't want out of that.

Also Ly, you're using a "Straw Man" logical fallacy. The teams that the players were on previously have no bearing on this draft since we're drafting the individual. Last year the timberwolves sucked with Garnett on them. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that KG is still a good player.

You honestly believe that? Bynum is going to be a player one day; not now.

  7. Andrew Bynum (19 years old)= 7.8 PPG (59.3 TS%) 5.9 RPG 1.1 APG 1.6 BPG

    Shelden Williams (23 years old)= 5.5 PPG (51.8 TS%) 5.4 RPG 0.5 APG 0.5 BPG

Williams is 6'9" 250, and Bynum is 7'0", 285 pounds.

I would take Bynum over Shelden Williams everytime, however that does not warrant either's selection and I wouldnt pick them even in this round.

Given where Brad Miller (9.0 PPG [50.8 TS%] 6.4 RPG) and Darko Milicic (8.0 PPG [49.2 TS%] 5.5 RPG) in addition to players like Yi Jianlian and Shelden Williams selected around or before him, that Bynum went right where he belonged.

Ill take Brad Miller and other players who were still on the board and some that are on the board now over Bynum.

However if you are building for the future then things change.

Yeah I gotta admit, I like the look of Tuscon and ZAE's teams. They'll be a great opponent to lose to in the finals!

i think i know exactly who that is. and if he's available, i'm gonna pick him.

i'm not sure how to take the comparison of these stats, since there is no MPG. you should include minutes per game, because if shelden is giving those numbers in half the time bynum is, then that makes shelden look pretty damn good.
