<div class="quote_poster">Chutney Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Shaq over Dwight Howard makes no sense. Same with Jason Kidd and Steve Nash not starting.</div> Well, thats the All Star game for you, thats why I hate it when people act like its a championship ring or somthing, its just a popularity contest. Shaq has played in 4 games this season, and hes the starting centre? Stephon Marbury with more votes than Michael Redd and Joe Johnson? Chris Webber's even on the list? What a joke.
One of the worst votings I have ever seen for the ASG. Errors: 1. Not to be bias, but Kidd and Carter both deserve to start. Their team is back on track now so none of those "but their team isn't winning" comments. 2. Shaq over Howard is a joke 3. T-Mac over Nash is a joke
This is who I think should be starting for each team C - Dwight Howard PF - Chris Bosh SF - LeBron James SG - Joe Johnson PG - Dwyane Wade C - Yao Ming PF - Carlos Boozer SF - Carmelo Anthony SG - Kobe Bryant PG - Steve Nash

I love how Gasol has over 100k votes and has yet to log one minute this season. Shaq has not even played, why he is starting the all star game is beyond me. Also can some one tell me how Francis has that many votes?
When will the NBA just form a committee of coaches, GM's, VP's, whatever to choose the AS'S. Those people are actually knowledgable about the best players and wont choose players who dont deserve it. Im sick of seing Yao Ming leading the votes by miles because of his fan club in China.

However, right now Yao has been by far the best center in the western conference.

I think Yao is the best of those players listed. Only Duncan (who is considered a PF in voting) I would even consider as a better C.
Biedrins should be #2 on the west center list but hes not even on the ballot. Hopefully he'll get voted in as a backup (if thats possible).
Yao definatley deserves it, he's putting up 25.5ppg, 9.2rpg, 2.0apg and the Rockets are sitting at .500%, there isnt a better centre than him in the West at the moment, possibly the league.

why do we argue the same thing every single year when its clear that the ASG is for the fans so thats why they let the fans decide who they want to see. The ones that do deserve it and didn't get voted will be voted in by the coaches. And its not like the people that are voted as starters will necessarily get majority of the minutes so idont see why everyone is complaining... we all know the starters dont necessarily mean they are playing at a higher level then others but rather they are just popular.
It just shows how many NBA fans will just see a stars name like Shaq or whoever and just vote for him just because they know they`re name from all the press. It`s ridiculous.
Question! what if AI gets traded to a western conference team? lol!!! oh and one more thing... The West will take this one coz of the 24-7 connection lol

I mean I always hear columnists and the like talking about the ASG like its a championship ring or somthing. For starters this running vote goes to show just how moronic the voting system is, when as mentioned, Pau Gasol is one of the leading vote getters in the West without even stepping foot on a court this season, and second of all, find me a player who actually puts all their effort into an ASG. If we want to reward the "best" players in each conference by playing in a game to see who the better conference is, it should be voted for strictly by the NBA, the media or the actual players themselves, not the fans. People would (and probally still are) still vote for Michael Jordan if given the chance.

WOW. I thought Carlos Boozer would give TD and KG a run, but .. yeah. Anyways, its the people's vote. People want to see the players who can make the game fun with nice dunks and stuff. <div class="quote_poster">Carter Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">One of the worst votings I have ever seen for the ASG. Although... if you don't think Deron Williams is one of the top 10.... I mean TOP 5 point guards in the west..... You need to see a doctor. If he played in New Orleans and New Orleans were 17-5..... it would be all over the news how he was leading them to victory. Oh wait, Chris Paul gets all the publicity because no one cares about Utah....
