<div class="quote_poster">Quoting dj_premium_plus:</div><div class="quote_post">how about this...everyone is opposing you because you're wrong. im not a huge pistons fan, and im here, giving you FACTS. read the box score.

nobody is attacking you...we're correcting you. the pistons are off to a record start, and its not just one member doing it. its all of them contributing. chauncey is an mvp candidate, rip hamilton is the leading scorer on the leagues best team. ben wallace is the best defensive player in the league...tell me which of these players should be left off the asg roster and why? sheed was a bit of a questionable pick, but thats just one player...so whats the big deal? these players were selected by the coaches around the league, they felt they all deserved to be there.

you've completely changed what you're problem was. first your problem was flip's mismanagment of the asg game...now its that the ones there didnt deserve to be. pick something to complain about, and go with it. if your problem is that piston players didnt deserve to be there, then why?</div>

I have to disagree with most the poeple here. The Pistons are very successful but that doesnt make their best players All-stars. They fit well together but they are not great individual players. Rip Hamilton did not deserve to be in there over Arenas and yet he was. Rasheed Wallace did not deserve to be in their over Dwight Howard and yet he was. This happened because people attribute a teams success with having very very talented players, which is usually true. Problem with it for the Pistons is that there's no star which gets forgotten and people instead choose to call them all stars.
Thats just what was wrong with the selection process.

On the topic of Flips coaching i think he should of played the exciting players more since the All-star game is supposed to be about high flying high octane offensive competitions. Sure Defence is great but its not very fun to watch.
Rasheed and Ben should of played less...Rip and Chaucey maybe a little more.
East won the game...but thats to be expected when you play 4/5ths of a starting lineup thats been together for 3 years.

Really Flips coaching was alright..but i would of liked to see a greater emphasis on excitement...even if it resulted in a lobsided West win. i would of liked to see an all gaurd lineup versus the Wests linup of 7 footers. Or even the Easts own linup of bigs. Shaq at center, Ben Wallace at powerfoward, Rasheed Wallace at small forward, Chris Bosh at shooting gaurd and Lebron would probably have to do at point.

The team selection is the part i had a problem with. Detroit is playing great...that doenst mean they're all allstars, they've got some skill sure! but its mostly that they work well together, know eachother and have a great system in place. Dallas is playing great...and yet only 1 of thier players made the team.

I would have thought if Flip was "cheating" he would have wanted to rest his players instead of giving them more minutes and playing the other threats in the East (Shaq etc...) harder with more minutes so they are tired when it comes to the regular season games.

although i do agree that dwight deserved to be there over sheed...i do think that rip deserved to be there. again...the leading scorer on the leagues best team should be an all-start. numbers aside, some players just deserve to be there...rip is having an all-star year. he's also the best mid-range shooter in the game. he deserves the love. over gilbert? maybe, maybe not...but he DOES deserve a spot
