We do that by voting them in or out, as we did with Hilary.

President Trump's approval rating is higher now than it was at election time, so I'd say he looks good for a 2nd term.

    Here's a hint.

If they want to carry a gun in Costa Rica, they should apply now for legal residency.

While the murders by gun-users is more than triple the rate of the US and rising each year, pretty much every male carries a machete which is arguably a more efficient tool for close-quarters defense. While I may purchase a machete (it is the national tool of Costa Rica) as a souvenir of my trip, I'll be in a tour group so probably won't be wearing it.

I have several tools which I carry when a gun is not an ideal choice for the situation. They are everyday utilitarian tools which I have practiced using as weapons of defense to a degree that I am quite comfortable with. The whole TSA thing caused the adaptation of far more portable, more innocent-appearing items that double as tools for defense.

Unless facing an army or an indiscriminate shooter at a distance, a gun is usually not the quickest, most efficient, or even most reliable method for defense. I would think your Ranger friends will feel comfortable enough without guns for the trip.

And thankfully she never will be.

    She ran, we voted no.

First, you need to look it up, because it's obvious you don't have a clue how dismal it really is.

Falling into enemy hands most likely saved McCain from an eventual dishonorable discharge.

sorry, don't see any dishonorable discharge anywhere or threat of one....he did get demerits in Naval Academy for not shining his shoes and resisting hazing practices....nothing dismal to be found...I've seen the documentary of his time in war....read a bit.....he was constantly promoted, not something that happens to people looking at dishonorable discharges...Trump is not fit to shine his shoes...but hey....I guess you like the guy for some weird reason...you just don't fit the mold of a Trumpette...can't quite understand your attraction to him

    Yes, and that!
Funny when the Liberal wishes to point to a Republican as an their acceptable example, it is invariable John McCain. Good old buddy of John Kerry.
McCain was an unacceptable candidate for President. Perhaps even less than Nixon.

This cuck sheriff needs to be fired.

They knew this would happen, and they let this happen.

    Another false flag.

read the articles...the American conservative article makes a lot of assumptions...according to Soviets and a Vietnamese general....there were..blah blah blah...2010 article was clearly composed to throw shade on McCain and Kerry...like them or not...I've traveled all over SE asia....met quite a few Vietnam Vets like myself....many just walked into Cambodia, Laos and Thailand and never came home but still live there..not all vets came out of the war with pro American sentiments either....McCain was tortured in prison...PTSD ....if he helped the almost 600 pows released get home...it's possible that's all he could do....I don't buy the narrative in the article at all...lot's of "maybe" info...if this is where you get your news....I understand your deep state fears.....I could show you some equally skewed articles from the radical left that are just as skewed in the opposite direction...McCain the politician has nothing to do with his POW experience in war....to throw shade on that is pretty tacky from a vets perspective..the Vietnamese govt has shown graves of pows to the American delegations since the war...a lot of those that didn't return are probably dead...for the record, neither Kerry or McCain would make good presidents in my view...

I'll add that although Costa Rica is far more violent than the US overall, it is far less violent than Chicago, St Louis or Compton.

If I had any safety concerns for my wife and I we'd simply vacation elsewhere.

Actually, the guns you mentioned are manufactured and owned primarily for invasive species and varmint hunting.

Coyotes, rabbits, sage rats, feral pigs...

Secondary purpose is target shooting and competition.

All rifles and shotguns combined are used in less than 3% of murders.

Over 97% of all murders by gun users were with pistols.
