Also, please tell me how the hell this team is suppose to win this year? They are poorly constructed and if they bring up the young kids they will need some seasoning, so it's not likely that they'd be great this year. We're not gonna land a big named player by giving up players we don't want, and we need to be smart and judicial with what young players we would consider trading so we don't screw ourselves for the future.
Good thing we took the shackled off thess players to allow all that pent up offensive talent come out. the dimished mind of a soon to be 40 year old
This team is a mess right now but even when healthy they needed a top 6 winger. Without Nash, Cally, Hags, Lundqvist and playing all their games on the road for a month they are abysmal Let them get healthy + HOPE a impact move can be made. I am not evaluating this team with 4 core players out and them not playing a single game on home ice
All we can do dis, I agree. Just hope it gets much better when those guys are back. Hags in 3 games. Cally in 2 weeks or so. The fear I have is Nash though. If he had a wrist injury, or a hip injury, no worries back soon. But this is his second straight year with a concussion. And he still has yet to even practice. I just hope this doesn't become a Staal situation, or worse yet a Sauer or Pronger situation. This Nash thing scares me more than anything else we have going on right now, on or off the ice. If he is out for a long time we are in huge trouble. Let's just hope he can get back on the ice soon.
Going back to Nash trade with Jackets, I think what we should have done was trade DZ for Moore + a pick and I think Jackets would have given great value for him. I think Torts was right when he said that great part of Nash trade was Moore. Kid looks awesome and he has a good shot.
On a positive note Kreider looked very good even knocked a Flyer on his ass at the end of a shift, should have been up from the getgo. Mashinter immediately stepped into his role, no need for that bum Pyatt anymore. Talbot also played well. On the negative still no goals from the center position, Brassard stinks much worse this year than Boyle. MDZ had 3 SOG while the hapless Staal again was on ice for the go ahead goal but he gets a pass I guess. Bring up youth to replace Stralman, every year the Rangers cut him loose there are no takers.
We need Brassard to step it up, same for Stepan. I know we're missing Nash and Cally but they need to step it up and start making their teammates better and creating offense. Have said it before, will say it again, unless Moore turns into a stud i would have much rather kept Gaborik. Brassard and Dorsett are not worth trading a 40gl scorer for.
The team is basically missing a first line so while it's upsetting to see what's going on they're clearly not a complete club.
MDZ's inability to show any emotion/aggression ( other than a scared look) on the ice is now his glaring impediment to having a successful NHL career. A scrap or a scrum which he initiates will do wonders for an attitude adjustment. Failure to take this emotional step will short circuit his career. Rick Nash has superior size and skills to MDZ, but in some ways is similar to MDZ in his emotional demeanor.
I think there's something to that puck. That stretch after MDZ gave that solid elbow to Neal after he had a few cheap shots on us was probably the best he looked that entire season. I think it gave him confidence to see that he can bang with these guys. Unfortunately he seems to have lost it as quickly as he had gotten it.
