The Clinton Foundation accepted millions of dollars from seven foreign governments during Hillary Rodham Clinton’s tenure as secretary of state, including one donation that violated its ethics agreement with the Obama administration, foundation officials disclosed Wednesday.

    ...

Foreign governments and individuals are prohibited from giving money to U.S. political candidates, to prevent outside influence over national leaders. But the foundation has given donors a way to potentially gain favor with the Clintons outside the traditional political limits.

Why would this make her pull out? I would think that after the Lewinsky incident, neither Clinton would ever pull out early again...

Hahahaha, if there is a better example of what is wrong with politics than this and any Bush holding public office I don't know what it is.

This is the kind of thing they'll do to get around any campaign finance reform.

How can you prevent charitable organizations from taking donations from anyone?

Not only did she serve honorably as Secretary of State, she managed to tip the trade deficit a tad towards our favor.

    Gotta love a multi-tasker.

It's not Clinton's money to use politically, personally or otherwise.

It is money donated to charity which will go to people in need, primarily if not exclusively in 3rd world countries.

If someone donates $1billion, they get no special favors. Hahahahahaha.

If you can't point out the "special favors" why bring it up?

    Too easy
    http://www.wsj.com/articles/foreign-government-gifts-to-clinton-foundation-on-the-rise-1424223031

One of the 2014 donations comes from a Canadian agency promoting the proposed Keystone pipeline, which is favored by Republicans and under review by the Obama administration. The Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development agency of Canada, a first-time donor, gave between $250,000 and $500,000. The donations, which are disclosed voluntarily by the foundation, are given only in ranges.

One of the agency’s priorities for 2014-2015 was to promote Keystone XL “as a stable and secure source of energy and energy technology,” according to the agency’s website. Mrs. Clinton’s State Department was involved in approving the U.S. government’s initial environmental-impact statement. Since leaving State, Mrs. Clinton has repeatedly declined to comment on Keystone.

The Canadian donation originated from an agency office separate from the one that advocates for Keystone XL, a Foundation spokesman said.

While the Canadian donation didn’t appear in a Clinton Foundation online database of donors until recently, the donation of about $480,000 was announced in June in Cartagena, Colombia, where the program provides job training for youths.

Kirk Hanson, director of the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics at Santa Clara University in California, said the Clintons should immediately reimpose the ban, for the same reasons it was in place while Mrs. Clinton led U.S. foreign policy.

Well, I hope Warren runs. I'd hate to have to play "defense" and hold my nose while voting for Hillary... She approved Keystone in the State Dept, is against single payer, and was on the board of Wal-Mart.

It really doesn't matter what Hillary does. She's always been one of the most ethical people.

What really matters is the precedence. Soon you'll have every politician with multiple PACs and multiple charitable organizations.

Who are these charities contracting with to provide certain services?

Nothing compared to the billions the Bush and Bin Laden families made jointly through their mutual defense investments in the Carlyle Group due to 9/11 and Bush's Halliburton investments.

No charitable donations involved, just sheer war-profiteering created by their joint plot, attack, and subsequent DHS coup of America.

As we all know, the Bush family first got rich from supporting Hitler, so this should come as no surprise.

Deflect and deny. Doesn't help your side at all.

Nobody in Carslyle held office after joining.

Not that taking a temporary "leave" from Carlyle to manipulate governments for Carlyle profits or taking a bribe of a position AFTER abusing office to do Carlyle's bidding means anything, but you're still wrong.

    And I don't have a "side".

I'm neither Dem nor Rep, nor am I a fan of Hillary.

You're deflecting again. This isn't about Carlysle, it's about Hillary and the Clinton charity taking foreign money for influence while she was Secy. of State and while she may run for president.

Not deflecting, just pointing out the mind-boggling hypocrisy of right-wingers criticizing Hillary for something completely beyond her control that only benefits millions of the world's poorest people when the right-wing politicos have continually and deliberately committed actual treason against America solely for their own personal profit.

Nobody from Carlysle Group served in office after joining Carlysle.

Hillary has served and perhaps will run for president all the while she's taken money from Foreign Governments.

I realize you want to deflect from what she's doing that's wrong by suggesting there's a bogeyman on the right.

As far as I'm concerned, once you're out of government, you can't be prevented from getting a job. That's "not freedom" you know.

Just to put your bullshit to rest:

    upload_2015-2-28_12-40-22.png

Baker joined Carslyle in 1993. He served in the Bush presidency prior. He never served any public office since.

Bush joined Carslyle as an advisor 5 years after retiring from public office.

Carlucci became Chairman of Carslyle after leaving his position as Secy of Defense.

Darman joined in 1993, the year Clinton took office.

Kennard joined in 2001, and only held a public office prior.

    etc.

Ironically, names like Kennard, Levvitt, and McLarty were Clinton people.
