4 year extension with the wolves. http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/7...erwolves-reach-four-year-deal-opt-sources-say
i love how whoever wrote the story said they are in last place in the NW, but failed to mention that Minny would be the 7 seed in the east if the playoffs started today. while the statement was true, it is also pretty misleading on the state of their team.
$15mil/year for four years. For a guy leading a team to a .412 record, that features pretty highly touted draftees like Beasley, Derrik Williams and Ricky Rubio. I know they're really young, and I know he's putting up all these great numbers, but jeez, it seems to me like that's a lot of cheddar. Man, we got off so cheap on Aldridge's contract. ($65 mil over 5 years.) Herman Cain approves of late bloomers.
Yeah, I was thinking more a player who excelled on a bad team, was their best player, then comes here and is exposed as a mediocre starter or worse.
No. I don't think that describes Love at all. The Wolves aren't "great" but I would probably call them a "decent to good" team this year and that's almost entirely because of Love and Rubio. Secondly it's a flawed comparison in terms of their productivity. Damon had around a 17 PER when he came to Portland and got to be the man right off the bat in Toronto. Love was kind of underutilized his first year, but still managed to put up a 20 PER by his second season, and it only got better with a jump from 25ish minutes per game to 35 minutes per game. Love is by far the superior talent.
Wow. Can't believe the Love love. That guy isn't worth the that kind of cash. He's a notch below Zbo and Zbo is nothing. Love is a loser on a losing team. So glad minni signed him.
