Four-star 2015 Ridgeville (S.C.) Woodland defensive end Michael Barnett got an offer from Alabama on Wednesday. On Thursday, he de-committed from Virginia Tech. Barnett, who had committed to the Hokies in November, told Rivals.com that the Crimson Tide offer wasn't the reason for his decision, however. "It didn't have any effect on my decision, but I was just happy that a school of that caliber offered me," he told Rivals, adding that he wanted to take some visits after track season -- he throws the shot put -- and take a closer look at his major.
