Kobe is KP and Nate's target, as they have hinted for years now. Prepare to lose some awesome players and get used to rooting for an anal rapist, or find a new team to cheer for.
Check his stats in ORLANDO. His PER was 14.8 this year in the regular season. Not terrible, but not even above average. Perhaps his 17.8 in 2007-08 is more indicative of his true capabilities, or maybe his 14.2 from 2006-07 is. Or maybe his 13.2 PER from the playoffs this year is? He's 30, he's had two seasons of sub-15 PER, he doesn't play very good defense, and he wants $10m a year over five years? The more I think about this, the less I hope he's the target for the Blazers. Ed O.
It wouldn't mean fuck all even if Kobe was KP and Nate's number one target. He is going to retire a Laker. Not a chance in hell they trade him. I don't even think a package of Roy + LA + Oden would get it done.
It appears that MARIS hasn't been paying attention to the rest of the NBA, specifically the recent news that Kobe was not opting out. Ed O.
Honestly, I have been wondering for some time what league he is actually watching. Bizarro NBA where Sergio is an all star, Frye is a power forward and Portland can win a title by doing nothing at all.
Yes, but it has almost no effect. 5 minutes is a tiny fraction of his career minutes, so his negative PER over those 5 minutes would have essentially zero effect on his career numbers.
I missed that myself. The latest reports I see on the webinator say that he says he might opt out, but he expects to be staying with the lakers even if he does. barfo
His 41% FG and 35% 3pt really turn me off. I don't think you can be that inefficient as a SF and earn the description of "one of the best all-round offensive players". He was great in the finals, but look at how he varied from series to series. Last season, he was 98th in the league in 2pt jump shot 97th place in inside shot %
Yes, the news was that he was not planning to opt out... at least that is the headline I saw. I believe a specific quote was that he was not going anywhere. Ed O.
I like the concept of Turkoglu...a big player who can hande and pass like a guard, shoot from range and play several positions. A Scottie Pippen sort of player. But the actual implementation of Turkoglu leaves a lot to be desired, as he's not actually that productive and can't defend any position well.
Hedo Turkoglu, forward. A man barely worth signing. Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to build the world's second point forward. Hedo Turkoglu will be that man. Better than he was before. Better, stronger, faster. barfo
Damn you sir, I now have visions of Lee Majors running through my head - and not from his Fall Guy days.
