Probably. But his ceiling on this team is a starting wing. If Zeller is our starter that means he outplayed Nurk or Nurk got hurt. In which case we're fucked.
If we start the regular season and Powell is our starting SF we’re going to be in a world of hurt. Not because Powell isn’t a good player. I’m a huge fan. But because he has no business defending 6’9” SF’s
Our Oubre for TPMLE competition: ATL - No role here BOS - Not going into the tax CHA - 13.5 for Oubre? CHI - Can offer full MLE CLE - Can offer full MLE LAC - Kawhi is out, he has a clear role here GSW - Do they want him back? MIL - Don't think they are spending more into the tax for Oubre MIN - Team sucks, but they can offer the full MLE NOP - Can offer full MLE PHI - Does he have a role here? SAC - Can offer full MLE TOR - Can offer full MLE, but why would they want him WAS - They aren't going into the tax for Oubre
Am curious, looking at different exceptions, if there might be an attempt to move Jones and shed salary, in an attempt to be able to use the full MLE. Hardcapping ourselves in the process, but having more buying power? If the previous figures showed us at right around the tax, that gives us 6.5 or so in breathing room under the apron.
The only teams we can dump him on are OKC and New Orleans. New Orleans will probably bring back Hart, so cross that off. OKC means giving them capital. I suppose it could be worth it if you have someone lined up to take the full MLE. I don't see anyone left that is worth the full MLE except Reggie Jackson? But he's a point guard.
can’t argue with a brick we lost Kanter’s rebounding and gained Cody Zeller? Snell who? Is an improvement over Melo? Lakers didn’t think so! had Powell signed to play elsewhere this game would be OVER! Dame would send a pigeon from Japan carrying a big note addressed for Olshey: trade me tomorrow! Quiye frankly, I predict if Olshey can’t get a major trade done within a week to ten days - Dame will be back to personally hand delivery the note!
This is a direct quote from Haynes: "Damian Lillard said, the roster as is, he doesn't see how this is a team that can really contend for a title, and that's what he wants. Management thinks otherwise."
Oh, if Neil is pushing back, we won't have Dame opening day. There's just no way that if Neil is unwilling to see things Dames way... which is obviously the clear way of seeing it, that Dame is going to put shit off until mid season or next off season when he can get his start with his new team from day one and develop some chemistry.
Don’t be like that. There isn’t much news and as a result, participants here are frustrated like any fan would be. Hang in there - I predict that by or at least over the weekend one of two things will have happened: 1. blazers announce blockbuster trade including CJ, for a star SF, PF or C; 2. no trades - Dame hints at playing elsewhere
Dame isn't saying shit in interviews unless Neil pisses him off so much that he reiterates a trade demand.
