Wow fentress also said it’s his understanding that a lot of Dames “angst” was because he wasn’t sure Powell would be back.

I wish we could have had a $0 guarantee on Zach's contract the past two years.

Is he on a summer league team or just sitting out there in free agency? He declined his 1.8 MIL from Cleveland to be a free agent. Isn't that more than the minimum he will get now? Seems he could make more money going overseas. I like Hartenstein though. We could use another big.

Yeah, I doubt he could get more in Europe though. Average salary is around 500K there. Maybe China, I’m not as familiar with their wages.

China is no more, they don't allow foreigners this year.

Maybe Hartenstein could find 1M net pay in Europe but i think he wants to stay in the league.

it was 1.7M which is probably a little less than the scale for a 3 year veteran.

he's gambling that some team will sign him for the minimum, and obviously, he wanted out of Cleveland

He's a talented bigman. Make's me wonder why he hasn't signed somewhere.

Teams can be in a rebuild mode forever. You milk it as long as you can with a generational talent. It's moronic to be in a hurry to get real bad quick. Too many people go into "give up" mode. Enjoy Dame while you can.

Teams under the luxury tax the end of this season will each receive $13 Million each, the highest ever. I bet this factors into how so close we are to the luxury tax. If we can get out of the tax at the trade deadline it would put a hefty chunk of change in Jody's pocket.

That's maybe the revenue from 2 home playoff games in later rounds. If she lets 13 mil come in the way of signing someone or trading for someone of significance, I will pack Dame's bags for him. We better be in the tax this year-- it was essentially sold like it was going to be after desperately climbing out of it last year.

^ Josh Hart is BPA in terms of free agents left. I wouldn't be mad at that for the full TPMLE. But I think NO would just match.

    they'd match for sure

I'm thinking Portland wants a 3rd vet minimum deal, and either save or not use the TPMLE. I'd be pretty sure they'd take Millsap for a minimum deal. I'd guess they have already offered it. But Millsap wants more and nobody is offering more

I'd be surprised if we haven't already offered something like a 2-year/10M contract with the second year as a TO. The 5 million a year allows us to sign Greg Brown using part of the MLE to a 3-4 year deal. The TO absolves us of his contract next year in case things go south. I suspect that's why Greg Brown hasn't signed his contract yet.

But I think Millsap is waiting to see if any contenders would give him that same contract. There are still contenders with a majority of the TPMLE/MLE still available. He was reportedly interested in Golden State before.
