Until he talks to Dame without Neil in the room and Dame is no longer "on board" with it... if he even will be without Chauncey's help.
I'd still be pretty surprised if Zeller actually settled for a vet minimum a couple hours into free agency I hope he did, but I'm skeptical
Patty Mills said no to GS. They wanted him. Took same money in Brooklyn. Sometimes players just have a preference.
Actually, I'm gonna be like Charlie Brown. I am hoping that Neil is just putting out a smokescreen about wanting to hold it together; hoping that will help his bargaining position.
Yes. But just saying the W’s wanted him, tried, he said no. Just like sometimes Portland tries and doesn’t get a guy. It’s not total incompetence always
Nurkic's guarantee date is today. No surprise they will pick it up, but yeah. Also by my count we have 3 more roster spots, so at a minimum we will get 2 more players.
If we got Bam, John Collins and Mitchell on that 2017 draft, can we all afford them with Dame and CJ?
I imagine best case scenario at this moment is something like: Millsap for the TPMLE. Another wing like James Ennis for the min. Probably another two-way for a point guard or another big. Underwhelming. I bet Dame and Neil already have a meeting set up for when Dame comes back from the Olympics. Can't imagine Dame looking at this roster and thinking we are any closer to competing.
So in the one season where we NEED to make a deep run, you want to hitch our wagon to a player who will be returning from a pretty major surgery halfway through the year? All the while we are trading what has been our second best player for multiple years and hoping we can tread water until he gets back? Trust me, I like Siakam and like the move during a healthy season, but if THIS season is truly as important to Dame as it's being made out to be I would not be making my big bet on a player who is returning from this type of injury. Especailly the way Pascal plays, I just don't trust it not getting re-aggravated this year. My post was more because I have not even seen it being brought up in any of these discussions people have had.
