exactly--our young'uns have taken too long to realize their potential, so we need them to step up their game to do so in order to trade them for someone whose other team is thinking it's taken too long to realize their potential, but hopefully at a position of need. Like, PF/C. crap.

Its kind of this weird thing though that if in this opportunity he plays really well he may just play himself right off of our team by costing too much this summer with what we are allow to offer. On the flip side if he plays horrible we may not want him back. Its almost a lose/lose as far as staying with the Blazers.

I just don't think any team will give him more than 4 million, no matter how he plays in the next few weeks. It's still a small sample size.

That wouldnt surprise me either but sometimes the NBA can live in a "what have you done for me lately" world.

I just wish Stotts would surprise everyone again and start Claver at center. I feel like he's the one guy on the bench who would be most able to deliver something comparable to what we've gotten from Lopez/Freeland--solid positional defense, good decision making, and no disruption to our bench rotation.

He would suck at Center. Claver is thin and weak, all brain and no body. A peppier, more spritely version of me.

Not so "thin and weak" as he has been. I see him listed at 235. That's as much as/more than Anthony Davis, Nerlens Noel, Mason Plumlee--all guys who play the 5 at a decent level. With his wingspan, I'm willing to bet that his standing reach is as good as Leonard's, if not better. I don't think you necessarily have to be bulky to play center; I think it's more important to be able to be in the right place at the right time. I trust Vic to do that much more than I do MyLe.

Those three are all much more athletic than Jlprk and Claver though.

His claim was that Vic would suck at center because he's "thin and weak"; I mention those three because they indicate that he's not too thin and weak to play center (for a couple weeks). I would also posit that Vic has a higher BBIQ than not only those three, but most of the starting 5's in the NBA.

Point is, of our potential options, I would prefer Claver over Truck or MyLe.

Fwiw there were 2 moments last time Claver played where he was lost on defense and his man got away from him in transition.

As far as the thin and weak, my point was those 3 make up for their lack of size with elite athleticism, which Claver does not have.

Claver doesn't look 235 to me. He looks 6-11, though. He is built to play SF, but can't pull off the shooting part.

I started posting a year ago that since he can't shoot, the coaches need to prepare him for PF by putting weight onto him. I mean, 3 years of letting him be a tweener? Come on, fish or cut bait. Make a decision on his position, mold his body for it, and give him a chance in the NBA before sending him back to Europe.

Claver isn't that much smaller than freeland both in height and weight.

Radio updates keep saying that Leonard is the expected starter. I guess we'll see.
