I know he's English but he's lived in Spain since he played there and lived there every offseason. He's made Spain his off season home and works out there

Really? I wonder what teams and what the offers were. Maybe they were for less than CSKA's offering.

I would almost guarantee the Clippers were one team

Yeah, but he'd have to live in Moscow.

The British love Spain and France. If I were English, and could live in Spain, I'd live in Spain, too.

Arh Riverman, we just can't let go of the Victor dream.

IMO Freeland is very underrated and could easy play c/pf and performed well above his paycheck last year! I think he helped develop Myers too.

I really like both of their games. Defense itself is underrated.

Its a shame they both had to sit behind LA the time they where, just when they started to show some promise they get shipped out...

I actually like Freeland's game better than Rolo's and Claver's better than Crabbe's

I agree. Above average IQ's to boot. Claver even started to develop an 3 point game. His farewell letter to Portland seemed more sincere then LA's IMO

I would love to have Freeland back, part of me thinks what the organization is doing now is a big mistake. I get it, you knew LA was leaving so you trade off Nic who you think might leave next year anyway. You don't take the risk on Wes even though us fans love the shit out of him because, well you probably aren't getting the same Wes back. Rolo probably isn't a great fit if you don't need to coddle Aldridge with a guy to play center so he don't hafto. But hell, show so loyalty to someone? Show Dame we can be loyal too? Dame is a loyal guy or at least seems to be. But if he watches nothing but buisness the next 6 years and no loyalty, what happens then? Plus I like Joel.

HCP, why are these geeks worried about where I'm going?

I mean they never started a thread about me the last 4 years.... Why now? My girl is from Spain and I have a house there, so let these nerds know that's probably where I'll end up!

Freeland was arguably the best defender on the team. Surprised he can't garner interest anywhere around the league.

Yeah if he had come into the league as a rookie from college and was 25 I'd think about resigning him but he's not really ideal for a rebuilding project. I do want to see him on the Clippers, or some playoff team out there. Maybe Neil has a sign and trade brewing.

+> I blinked my eyes and saw Steve Blake (when he was younger). For Joel, only the coach decides if he gets PT. I would be this year if he is here. Besides this, if he ends up in Moscow he would be under constant surveilance and subject to multiple car crashes every week (Joel Freeland on Utube Russian crazy drivers)Da.

Simple decision by him. The NBA offers are minimum wage. The European offers are probably double, about $2.5M, a small cut from the $3M that we paid.

Well, that would explain his denial. They have about 2M to spend on him.

With the news breaking of DJ being a man of his word, maybe Freeland might find a home after all, in much of my disgust with the Mavs.
