Sorry (not really but) These parents should be hung. In front of their kid. Actually no. Hang the kid in front if mommy and daddy. Let them watch and then wait about a week so they can feel it. Then hang the mom in front of dad. Then do dad the next week. That’s my punishment. Cue “god you’re so angry at these people what’s your problem they only are responsible for killing four kids”. Can’t wait! https://www.instagram.com/reel/CXFc6LfB0af/?utm_medium=copy_link
I oppose death penalty but share Calvin's anger. Senator Chris Coons tried a bill in the wake of latest school shooting to require guns be kept out of the way of children. Moscow Mitch blocked it because of course he did. Then tweeted pic of himself enjoying dessert.
My greatest surprise about this thread is that there hasn't been a flurry of posts arguing self defense.
Senator Coons made it clear his bill was about gun storage, not hunting trips under adult supervision. I'm no hunter but pretty sure hunters don't use assault weapons for deer or pheasant.
doesn't look that way to me. Gun violence is highest in cali, tx, florida., oh, pa and ga. Low in the dakodas, mt, wy. Md, Ct, Ny, Nj But guns owned are highest in wy, mt, wv, ar, ms, al, ak. The maps pretty clearly show that states with high gun ownership do not have the high gun crimes, not sure how you came to your conclusion?
From the article below the maps: Gun Violence by State Based on the number of gun deaths per capita in 2019 alone, states with the most gun violence are: Alaska - 24.4 Mississippi - 24.2 Wyoming - 22.3 New Mexico 22.3 Alabama - 22.2 Louisiana - 22.1 Missouri - 20.6 South Carolina - 19.9 Arkansas - 19.3 Montana - 19.3 These states tends to have high gun ownership rates. Montana has the highest with 66.3%, followed by Wyoming with 66.2%, and Alaska with 64.5%. Here are the 10 states with the highest rates of gun ownership: Montana (66.30%) Wyoming (66.20%) Alaska (64.50%) Idaho (60.10%) West Virginia (58.50%) Arkansas (57.20%) Mississippi (55.80%) Alabama (55.50%) South Dakota (55.30%) North Dakota (55.10%)
Are you ok? Is there something wrong about hunting as a kid? There is nothing wrong with hunting as a kid with adult supervision. You are such a treat.
I don't think there is anything wrong with teaching a kid to hunt. At what age is that appropriate is a good question. But, as long as the parent(s) are responsible and teach the kid the dangers and responsibility of using a gun, and lock them away when not hunting with them, I don't see the issue.
I haven't read the bill so unclear on the details. I agree kids should not have free roam to any guns without adult supervision. Parents should suffer stiff consequences if their child gets their gun and uses it to harm anyone. I don't think kids should never be able to touch a semi automatic gun and use it at the shooting range though. If a 14 year old goes out on a walk in the woods with his dad, you don't know what you will come up against. Bears. Coyotes. Mountain lions. If a a mountain lion is coming at you, you surely are not going to have time to pull out your rifle and shoot it. That's what a pistol or shotgun or whatever is for. Kids that go hunting go through a hunter safety course where they have to handle different guns. It has been more than 20 years since I have attended one, but I assume it is similar today. Probably even more stringent.
