Quick back of the envelope math says this list comprises roughly... 0.035% of murders 0.090% of gun deaths 0.001% of violent crime May be off by a bit depending on what sources you're using, but not enough to support the theory that an ar15 or rifle of any kind is associated with an increase risk of death over any other gun. In fact far more People are killed with hand guns. More people are killed by bludgeoning than the ar15. Oh, and Colorado has had a high capacity magazine ban for 9 years...
We should not have AR 15s anywhere is what I think it means. It’s clearly the weapon of choice for these mass shooting lunatics.
It's the most popular gun in America. Of course people are going to use it. It's less lethal than most hunting rifles and kills a minute fraction of the people as handguns. In fact, fewer than die in bludgeoning murders in this country. You can't ban the AR15 without banning most hunting rifles (they have the same capabilities, but AR typically use a smaller round). This is not logical. I have no great love for the ar15. But this just doesn't make sense.
It’s always shocking to me that we always hear about these fucks being on their radar or law enforcement being aware of them or “we almost arrested him” bullshit. We gotta stop that shit. If you are screwed up enough that you are one of these people, they need to have help/therapy/meds, something so they don’t go off the deep end. We need more mental institutions.
Yeah, hearing 7 so far with a handful others injured and still in unknown states in the hospital. Yeah, he's dead. He turned the gun on himself after shooting others.
“It’s the most popular” isn’t reason to have them. Cocaine is really popular. As for the handguns kill more stat- I am talking about mass shootings. The one-offs I have completely given up on. But the psychos who decide to choose a gun for their shooting spree, it’s the AR15s.
How do you make a gun illegal that has the same features as most hunting rifles? What makes an AR15 different? What part or feature do you outlaw?
That's absolutely false. I know dozens of people who own AR15s for hunting and self defense. I only know of a few who own them for the "Zombie Apocalypse", video game appeal. And they go target shooting for recreation. But none of them have problems with violence or the law.
