They arrested the father of the shooter. Charged him with murder, attempted murder, and cruelty to children.

Huh? I never said respond in kind. What is bs? That we will never have 100% kindness? that 25-50% of people will get over on a other if they know they can?

you said there are aweful people out there so you agree with what i said but call it bs?

im not following you at all.

I don’t know how they can charge him with murder?

He gave a gun to a kid who had made threats about committing mass shootings (to the point the FBI went and interviewed the family and the kid).

    Seems pretty clear to me.

I guess I don’t know the definition of murder. Do you get charged with murder if you’re an accomplice? I thought there was something like accessory to murder. I’m not very knowledgeable about the various criminal charges admittedly.

True. And we don't know the details of the case. But I can certainly see how it could be reasonable.

I'm saying it's BS that expecting we can be kinder on the whole is "rainbows and unicorns."

Also, saying there are awful people out there doesn't mean that half the people will be awful or try to get over on each other, presumably innately.

I agree that you won't have 100% kindness, at least not in our lifetimes or for generations, but it's not an all-or-nothing proposition. It doesn't have to be. The point is that every time we practice a bit or restraint in cruelty to our fellow human makes a dent in someone else being cruel to someone or something else. Movement toward a more-considerate populace will diminish this kind of behavior, even if it doesn't irradicate it, and not immediately being cruel to another person IS achievable on a personal level. As human beings with the ability to think and reason on a higher level, we also have the ability to control acting on impulse in most cases.

I think it varies depending on what jurisdiction a crime is committed. For instance, in one state something might qualify as a certain crime when it might be another in a neighboring state. There is nuance in the detail depending on who is adjudicating the offense.

I dont disagree. Im just saying there will always be thst type of person who takes advantage of the kindness to reep personal benefits and/or just simply be an unkind person.
Yes it all starts with us as an individual to have emotional restraint, turn the other cheek and all that, but that only goes so far.
What do we do with those, or how do we deal with those who refuse to play fair/kind and sit and wait to pounce on any opportunity they see they can have personal gain of some sort?

Bullies, line cutters, the types who are completely selfish, but within the law, i think is a large part of peoples aggression. i think people are sick of the passive aggressive types. The ones who love to trigger and then point the finger at the reaction. People want other people to start coming down on those who try to trigger instead of going after thsoecwho react.
Its the triggerers that are the foundation of such conflicts but society has dismissed them in favor of coming down on those who react to the trigger.

So people are tired of trying to be kind. I know i am. Im tired of trying to do the right thing and getting behind because of it, while watching people slip the system to get ahead. makes it really tough to be kind all the time when this happens so often.

im tired of trying to be kind to those who disagree with me while they mock and belittle my opinions. Actually im done with it. Been done with it.
Im just tired of rude selfish people and i see them constantly on a daily basis.

we have a generation coming up that thinks they know everything and what is right and wrong with little emotional maturity, yelling and screaming at those who dont think just like them.
Yea, im sorry but i feel a “kind” nation is more utopia than reality.

You say that you're, "tired of rude selfish people"? I get that, but deciding to become one seems like a pretty questionable plan.

His son is a minor. He is responsible for him. He gave his son a gun. His son killed people. Murder. He is responsible.

I thought it was second degree murder... But you can never really count on the earliest reports to be 100% accurate.

i wouldnt say its deciding to become one as much as just giving what is given. Fire for fire. Im not being openly rude to random people, only those being rude to others. Giving them a taste of their own medicine so to speak. Is it the best answer? No. But i don't claim to be a God or some perfect angel. I wear my faults out in the open, unlike some who try to portray pretend perfection. I also dont claim to have all the answers. I only claim to be human and my human reaction is me being done with continually trying to be nice to those who bite off the hand trying to feed them.

Kid gets busted previously for saying he’s going to shoot up school. FBI comes and interviews parents. Dad later buys son an AR15.

Dad basically said here you go!
