I got boat rage this weekend! What the hell are Sail boats doing traveling under sail into a narrow channel. And then they have the nerve to wave at me! Ok maybe that came across a bit entitled
I realize there needs to be some clearance between the floor and the stall, but for poop's sake it doesn't need to be 18 inches gap. 4 inches is plenty (that's not what she said) The gigantic gap makes it easier to clean. The janitor/janitress don't need to open the door to mop the floor. Saves them 5 seconds. Should someone collapse, they're easily seen. Well, how is this any different than a person living by themselves. We don't have see-through walls to make sure we're immediately attended to. In case you haven't realized yet, I'm talking about public bathtoom stalls.
Waste of space. Take out Eastmoreland GC and put affordable medium-rise condominiums. There's already a Max stop there.
most of these can be covered off with the ole..... imagine how smart the avg person is these days, and then realise half of people are dumber than that. ur gonna run into these people regularly.
How about those assholes who drive in the through lane instead of the onramp lane, drive up to the light the turn around the pedestrian triangular median to get onto the onramp, cutting ahead of everyone in line in the correct lane? those types can fuck right off.
Absolutely. And the worst of it all is the general public supports this. They will minimize the passive aggressive behavior and rail against those who get fed up with it and push back. So sick of initiators trying to cause trouble being given a pass but those who have had enough and retaliate, are labeled as trouble makers, drama starters and evil people. Its like fuck. Don't you see who is starting shit??? This is very true, but is no usable excuse for selfish behavior.
Surprisingly most things annoy the fuck out of me. I am extremely intolerant of stupid things, people, etc
Totally sympathize. I have seen that happen so many times that I believe it is 100% intentional. Discouraging that there are so many asses in the world.
Not at all. This is a much bigger issue than in just S2 even if it is also an issue in S2. And most of the time the people who rail against the retaliators are just average members here or people with biases. I would hope you know me well enough if i actually have an issue ill pm you and address it directly. For our ups and downs i hope you know i truly believe you do great work in a world of impossibilities. You will never please everyone here, but you do a damn good job trying. Do i think you have your biases? At times. But by no means was i even thinking of you when i posted what i did and actually had a few others in mind(wont name names) around here.
When I walk down the stairs at the gym and some person stops to check their cell phone for more than 5 seconds. People are coming up on the other side too.
Different perspectives, I guess. I get that people who behave rudely are culpable for their behavior, but elevation in retaliation isn't justifiable. When @BassPlaya is annoyed at people obstructing traffic by driving slow in the fast lane (for example), it wouldn't justify him racing up the shoulder to pass the offender, then cutting them off and slamming on his brakes to teach them a lesson. And even if he did do that, it wouldn't justify the first person using a pit maneuver to ram him off the road. We cannot always control the circumstances we find ourselves in, but we can always, always control how we respond to them.
Excellent post. I often have to remind myself not to react, but to respond. I fail far more often than I care to admit.
Great post. I think from my perspective, the defense of the initial act by others propelles me to react. Its annoying to see the initial act. It drives me nuts to see people actually defend it l, and thats typically when i react. When ive seen/had enough of the mindset that such behavior should be accepted without consequence/retaliation, I get more than frustrated. With that said, i pay four dollars a day to take the ferry to avoid these types on the freeway because i have enough self recognition that eventually im going to honk/flip off the wrong guy who then pulls out a gun. So my personal solution is to try to avoid putting myself in those situations to begin with. Not always possible though.
For me, it's the selfishness. Yes, there have always been selfish people. We are currently in one of the most historically selfish era's. I mean, the last 20 years invented the "selfie". How about those who feel they need loud mufflers? Always been...right? Yes, but not to the level now. Back 40-50 years ago, there would occasionally be that a-hole who uncapped his headers and drove through town. Now, several times a day, folks drive through my part of town with those muffler systems that sound like explosions after they rev the motor. Sometimes it's after 11 at night. My animals freak the %$#$ out. I think about the poor folks that have faced real gunfire in the service. It sounds just like real gunfire. Is there any concern for your fellow man? Does that person with their loud mufflers think about anything but themselves? No. How about loud Harley guy? Used to always be a few. Now, that same guy has a 300w Stereo system blaring that is louder than the freaking Harley. Pure......undeniable.....selfishness. Imagine, just for a second, if the 95% of the population decided to emulate the 5% who could care less. Picture that environment.
I generally use the term "self-centered" rather than "selfish", but that's probably just semantics. But yes, lack of consideration of others, and obliviousness to (or complete disregard for) the impact ones actions have on others, are definitely my biggest pet peeves. But as you said, that's the way society has been trending for decades. Hell, Whitney called it "The Greatest Love of All". Self-love, self-care, self-esteem, self-interest, self-promotion--these things are now venerated. We can't be surprised at the result.
