Just book mark this thread so when you do get into those schools you can shove it in his arrogant face. He thinks he knows everything.
Sloth thinks he's all smart and shit so he's feeling some competition with you, Ahlian. Don't worry about it.
Is the campus good? Just wondering, because we went to check out UCSD a while ago, and no offense, but I cannot image myself living 4 years over there...
Wow...just getting to this thread....that sucks for you Brian. Man, if my parents had those kind of expectations for me, I'd have been fucked. I got through high school with a 2.47 GPA and my college GPA is only about a 2.3ish or so, but that's due in large part because I didn't give a fuck my first 2 years. To show this, my GPA was a whopping 1.7 and I lost financial aid because of it. To say the least..I've been working my ass off these last couple years to get my GPA back to a halfway respectable point, lol.
My brother loves it. The surrounding areas off campus are cool too. Its a good school, but I probably wouldn't go there. I'm more of an SD person. I want to go to SDSU.
I never said he couldn't make it into those schools, just that that odds aren't very good. Our high school valedictorian got rejected from all the Ivy League schools he applied to. He had the same kind of crap, 4.0 unweighted GPA that was like 4.77 weighted. Full IB with 6 and 7's on those tests. Head of a bunch of major clubs and crap like that, won various science and math awards, was an all state swimmer. And his demographic appeal to those schools better than an international asian kid. That's to say, getting into those schools will be a complete crapshot with his set of accomplishments, because he hasn't done anything that will stand out above every other applicant.
In one case it is nice to see they care, and that this shows you will do better. However, this is wayyy too harsh.
