Obviously I want to keep Fox over Tony but also obvious is a GM trading a #2C to the Rangers is going to want Fox too. I would have a much harder time parting with Fox if he wasn't 5'8" and the Rangers didn't have a deep pool of prospects. No way you trade Fox? What if it's to land an unhappy Eichel?

Fox is not 5'8. He's 5'11 same as DeAngelo. Maybe both are shorter than that but they are listed at the same height. Rangers are not trading Fox. So forget about it. TDA on the other hand was a dickhead with the last contract. He's outta here soon. Rangers have more than enough with TDA, Chytil, an extra first rounder, some other prospects to get a second center.

I was reading an article that was very focused on the Rangers need to add some grit to the team to complete the recipe so to speak and have a balanced team. I think there is something to that. As I view it, between Buch, maybe Chytil, the second 1st rounder, some other solid prospects, and maybe DeAngelo (although I still favor re-signing him to a 2-year bridge deal), and potentially Strome, we should have plenty of assets to add a very good # 2 C.

I was also thinking about the 3rd line, and I'm not sure if Chytil and Kravtsov together is the right play. That is a pretty soft/finesse 3rd line, and that worries me. Chytil is very soft on the puck, and is adverse to contact. Now he can improve that as a 20 year old kid, but it is absolutely something he needs to improve to be a productive player on a regular basis.

We'll make moves, no doubt there. The question is what those moves will be.

Barron is exactly the kind of playoff guy we need on the bottom lines and the fans will quickly love him. Fast hast to stay now. Strome, Buchnevich, TDA and Chytil can all go in the right deal.
