That was Febuary 7th. The last time these two teams played. Blazers nearly came back day after Christmas and then got the Febuary 7th game stolen from them by the refs. Not to mention Royce O'Neale taking out Simons.

Its fucking payback time! It's time for the Jazz to face the music!

Dame with his regular high expectations but I like what I'm hearing about our D and Stotts making serious adjustments where needed.

He's not even on the injury report and he was in the practice video from Monday slashing and getting a put back... so I'm sure he's good to go.

First game with new defensive schemes, I’m not particularly looking for end result. I just wanna see something sustainable once the thinking and hesitation ends, and players get comfortable. And that will only come with time.

I have no idea who Blevins, Elleby, and Giles are. Who are these guys, and are they any good? I'm also glad to see Kanter back in the lineup! I really like that guy.

And I thought we had.....what's his name....Robert Covington on the roster, but I don't see his name anywhere. Is he playing tonight?

Sorry for being so out-of-the-loop, but since sports went political I've pretty much tuned it out. I haven't even watched one single 9er game this year.

This first game will determine how much of this season I watch. I heard they were a disaster in preseason. I just don't have the patience this year to watch Stotts fumble games away. I've got enough stress in my life right now. If we don't make it to the playoffs, then he's definitely going to get canned. And perhaps we could even finally trade CJ away for someone who can actually help this team.

    Go Blazers.

Blevins is Dames Cousin. CJ Elleby is the Blazers rookie, and Giles is a FA from Sacramento (the Blazers actually drafted him for Sacramento a few years back in exchange for the pick for Collins). Giles is exceptionally good. High energy, high octane player. A very versatile big man. Was looking better than Kanter out there and perhaps looking the best of any Blazer in preseason.

    Elleby sucks

    Blevins is better than Elleby

Nets looked great with little practice and new players.
Clippers looked just fine with little practice and new players.
Celtics and Bucks are looking good with little practice and new players.
Wizards looking much better with little practice and new players.

Let's hope the Blazers can continue that trend.

Fiend! Do you expect the Blazers to overcome incredible hardships - even if those same "hardships" are just minor inconveniences for other teams!

Yeah, after the last 3 preseason games I'd be happy for a reasonably well played game with good effort. I realize we have new guys to integrate with limited time and a new defensive scheme, all that is gonna take some time. A win would be fantastic, my "fear" is a bad start with our tough early schedule.

By the way, do we have a new Defense Coach? I keep hearing about this supposed "scheme", but adding a couple of defensive players is not a "scheme", so I hope Stotts has an actual PLAN, and not just something he pulled out of his ass.

Before last season, Portland had won umpteen home openers in a row. I expect them to play well enough to get the win. Then the Houston Covids might be next with the chance to start 2-0.
