Like I said, "there is no such thing as a must win game in October", but take 'em when you can get 'em. At the end of the season they all count the same.

Great point.....it always blows me away on here, mid December when people are just griping and bitching about how horrible Dame shot and Meyers rebounded, but we WON! And jerking off over some 25 point win over the Spurs. Each W counts the same mid April if you as me.

They don't need Favors. A little bird told me Gobert is going to get 25-15-5 and the Jizz win by only 6. Of course, it may have meant that Rudy's going for 25 missed shots, 15 turnovers, and 5 fouls, and the Jizz lose by 26 - not sure. The little birdy didn't seem to know where he was.

There are no style points in basketball (well, except during the slam dunk contest). A win is a win, is a win, is a win. They all count the same in your record and for use in determining tie breakers. Which is why it always hurts to let one slip away, to lose a game you should have won. Those losses, even in November and December can come back to haunt you in April when you lose a tie breaker and fall from 4th seed and HCA to 5th or 6th seed and opening the playoffs on the road.

Gordon Hayward is much better at breaking his fingers. I'll give him that.

That's technically incorrect. Head-to-head victories over teams with whom we might end up tied very well could count for more in tie-breakers; conference wins count more in tie-breakers than non-conference wins, as could (potentially) wins over likely playoff teams, and even blowouts (if it ever got down to the 6th tie-breaker, which is net points scored).

However, the basic premise is valid--as long as we win, the other stuff is peripheral.

I should have been more specific.

A win tomorrow on October 25, 2016 over the Utah Jazz counts exactly the same as a win over the Utah Jazz on April 4, 2017 or April 8, 2017 in determining the tie breaker between these two teams, should it be needed.

We play UTA twice in our final 5 games. Best to jump on them now to get a leg up on the season series. This game counts just as much as those two in determining our final record and our potential tie breaker with the Jazz.

Just put him on Evan Turner or Moe Harkless, they have the offensive games of chairs.

Sounds good to me. Turn a weakness into a strength for us.

Last season in 5 head-to-head match-ups against Iso Joe (4 for BRK and 1 for MIA), Turner, who isn't known for his scoring, averaged 13 ppg, 8.25 rpg, 4 apg on .528 FG%.

    He also recorded a triple double with 19 points (on 9/13 shooting = .692 FG%), 10 rebounds and 12 assists in a head-to-head match-up with Johnson on March 23, 2015. In that game, in 37:40, Johnson had 6 points, (on 3/11 shooting = .273 FG%), 3 rebounds and 1 assist.

So yes, PLEASE put Joe Johnson on Evan Turner. We'd really like to see the new guy go off in his first game as a Blazer.

Joe Johnson is kind of like Evan Turner's bitch.

Probably had nothing to do with the fact Joe Johnson played on the Brooklyn Nets and Evan Turner played for the Celtics.

Utah could put chairs on the perimeter for defense and Portland still couldn''t score on Favors or Gobert.

Another good plan. Unlike 100-year old Iso Joe, a char might actually get a stop by getting in someone's way.

I think it's cute that by adding old slow Joe and old fat Boris, Jazz fans suddenly think they have a bench. I think it's even cuter that you think ether of those guys actually give a fuck about playing defense.

But, what's cutest of all is you've bought into the hype that because your team plays at a glacial pace, you actually have an elite defense. Yes, yes, I've read the articles that say UTA had the 3rd best defensive efficiency rating in the league after that all star break last year. BFD. That's a sample size of 30 games and you actually had a losing record (14-16) over those 30 games.

Don't let Quin McSnyder's boring SlowTime offense fool you into thinking you're a great defensive team. Yes, you have great rim protectors, but there is more to playing defense than blocking shots (JaVale McGee says, "hi").

Fact, you're OPP FG% last year was only 10th best in the league last season. Above average, but hardly elite.

Fact, you OPP 3FG% was 13th in the league, barely above average.

Fact, we were 3-1 against you last season and averaged 104.5 ppg against your "elite" defense.

Fact, the only game we lost was a game where Lillard DNP.

Fact, Damian Lillard averaged 28.7 PPG against you last season.

Fact, C.J. McCollum averaged 26.3 PPG against you last season.

    Looking forward to tomorrow night.

Y'all are really mad every relevant basketball mind picked us over Portland? Must hurt over succeeding and knowing you will never reach that peak of mediocrity again. Y'all basically the Thrift Store version of Golden State, but the original owner's cat pissed all over y'all.
