It's probably early to say this, but Ed Davis may not be as missed as many thought.

Shit, I could get rebounds over Ingram. Wasn’t he their starting PF?

Nurk did a nice job of playing garbage man with tip ins and offensive rebounds that were put back. I’d like to see him more aggressive around the basket, but I wouldn’t call it a poor performance.

Props to Collins for how he played last night.

Most those guys got dumped by Portland, wasn’t really by choice.

Yeah, I've seen a post in this thread that was like "ugh, almost all of Nurk points came from putbacks..." like it's a bad thing ?? Second chance points are huge

I love that Zach has 50% more blocks per game than the #2 guy in the league.

I mean the Lakers have one big in their rotation, so yeah it probably is a little early. I still don’t think we adequately replaced Ed. You can say Zach, but then who takes his PF minutes? If it’s Layman we’re gonna struggle on the boards.

Lets see, the Lakers have numerous hight draft picks, vets with rings and the best player in the game and we still won the game. Man, Neil & Terry just don't know what they are doing.

But Ed wouldn't play against starters.
Speaking of starting PFs: I don't think it's too far fetched to think you could shoot at least 1/10 if left wide open. ;)

Wait, you thought that was a serious list? The Tom Piatrowski (sp?) reference should have been a dead giveaway that it was tongue-in-cheek.

There was a play in the first half last night where I was screaming at CJ to pass the ball. Jake was WIDE open at the three point line, there wasn't a defender within 10 feet of him. CJ was actually facing him, but he pounded the ball for a full 3 extra seconds, and only passed it to Jake once the defender was rushing out to him. Jake then missed a contested three. That miss should have gone on CJ's stat line.

That happens a lot. Just specifically watch when CJ starts pounding the rock and how many teammates are wide open as he goes 1-on-2 or 1-on-3. He digs himself out of it with hitting highly contested shots at times but it's still not good team basketball IMO.

Btw, I finally got to watch the replay of the game.

That first non-continuation on the Lillard bank three was one of the worst calls I've ever seen. That was the literal definition of continuation.

The second one was the definition of continuation. The first one was well after the 'gather'. He was literally in the air shooting the fucking ball. Calls like that are what I've come to expect over past decades when playing the Lakers.
