This wasn't just last night, and it wasn't just the obvious slip plays. He barely touches guys when he actually intends to screen, and when he does, he has been getting called for moving screens. Hardly ever creates enough separation to give Dame a passing lane. It needs work.

I agree the screens are not creating much seperation, but I think they're are a few issues with chemistry and the screeners, the guards are also going to early causing silly fouls on the screener, the screeners also need to do a better job of wide.

This isn't an isolated situation. He's had history with poor screening, and didn't really acknowledge that he was the problem before.

Hassan has been a "slip" guy his whole career though. If teams double Dame out of the pick and roll it doesn't matter if you have the best screen setter of all time on the floor. I'm pretty confident that you've watched the playoffs the last couple years, right?

How about this crazy idea: Instead of trying to get struggling shooters more shots in a game like last night why not us the pick and roll to create an advantage to get the guy who was 6-7 from the field some more buckets at the rim? A majority of our 3 point looks were good shots so I didn't think the screens were the problem.

I guess but it was Goran Dragic and Dion Waiters heh. :). I noticed it in the preseason too, if it doesn't get better as they play together there is certainly a problem there.

I'm not sure it's that easy to get Hassan more shots, he's not exactly nimble of foot and his range is like 3-5 feet? They did a good job of trying to get him the ball when he slipped and he did an alright job of getting the ball to the corners when someone rotated between him and the basket, just guys weren't hitting shots. The real issue to me is that his screens just weren't creating much separation for the guards when they would try to penetrate from the screen.

Denver knows us. They know how badly we rely on pick and roll. They went all out to stop Dame and CJ. When teams do that we need to trust the other guys on the floor. Honestly the bigs (except Tolliver) all did their job last night for the most part.

How is a screen supposed to generate separation if the other team is doubling the ball handler?

We have to learn how to play when this happens or this team will never be a contender. Instead we just keep running pick and roll.

Based off what sample size? The guy hasn't played a meaningful basketball game in 2 years!

It wasn't creating any space even when they didnt double though, and even when they did the screens are set to begin with to create space and yes, Nurks / ML’s created more than what theyve gotten preseason + the Denver game.
Id like them to use PNR less too, but that doesnt mean I think the screens are good.

Zach gave our guards some open shots last night. But some of that our guards fault not using the screen correctly. Dame does decent job by using screen. The others goes to wide off the screen and that's allows the defender go through the open or screeners get offense foul for moving. Yes some of the screen are not good due the man trying going to fast try to get in the PNR.

It's timing...we don't have it yet..where the guy wants the ball, where he wants the screen...how long before rolling off the screen..looked clumsy all night last night but that will look much better by Xmas in my view

You mean they’re overreacting to one game? Sad. Glad that doesn’t happen around here.

helps if your big is planted and executed the pass to the guard before setting it....Plumlee is great at that...so were Nurk and Meyers. I noticed our bigs only standing ground on a screen for a split second...not taking up space and giving a barrier to the second guy trying to double team. Point being we were impatient with screens and our guards weren't catching and shooting off a screen...they were dribbling in traffic

Skal was arguably better than Zach last night. I know it's only 1 game but I'm totally open to moving Zach or even Ant if the right deal comes along for a sure thing.

Skal matched up with Plumlee and Zach matched up with Millsap......I'd say that was sort of a difference maker
