If this turns out to be the case, I would be very happy. I feared it could be a season ending tear that needed surgery: "The Rangers had no updates on either player on Friday but league sources indicated that Fox’s lower-body injury is likely to keep him out in the range of 2-4 weeks. His leg-on-leg collision with the Hurricanes’ Sebastian Aho in the first period on Thursday looked ugly. Fox was on the ice for a few seconds, got up to ask referee TJ Luxmore why Aho wasn’t penalized for making contact well away from the puck and ended up leaving the bench soon after."
With the good start the team has had, it gives them a little wiggle room. The thing I'd add though is the Rangers have had great injury luck the past few seasons, I really hope this isn't the start of that luck changing, and law of averages catching up with them. We have no cap space to do anything, and not a lot of depth. Could sink the season. And we'll see what the deal is with Chytil, but the quick callup of Brod isn't a great sign.
Sounds like they and Fox caught a big break with that timeline, which is good news. I didn't think it was a dirty play by Aho, Fox was actually the one who extended his leg. Jones will get more time now. I'd have Panarin run the pp, as he has Fox passing ability and wrist shot.
