It's not that we don't think they're good players, it's that a lot of us are smart enough to see how Russ is overrated, and his triple double coverage last year was annoying.

Plus, he's a division rival. I don't have hate for any Eastern Conference player really..

Who's to say they're better? Based on what?? They were playing better without Carmelo, we had 20+ turnovers, and outside of our big 3, nobody did anything. That Melo play was definitely a flagrant 1 (probably not a flagrant 2) but that wouldn't still led to him getting ejected. He has a layup and jumped past the rim and led with his elbow straight to the face of Nurkic. Definitely flagrant.

I'd love to hear your Westbrook stories though.

I typically agree with you but your take on this leaves me scratching my head. Melo could have made a move to the basket and scored. He didn't. Instead he made a move away from the basket and led with his elbow into Nurk's jaw. He sought out the contact and delivered a shot to the face. Not a basketball move; initiated contact; unnecessary.

I guess we can't agree all the time ;)

Says the dude who's a fan of OKC... A city that only got a team because of another cities hurricane combined.

A city that doesn't have an NBA championship, so they pretend like the championship that SEATTLE won is theirs as well.

If you wanna talk about relevancy, then I'd be delighted to show you how your OKC Thunder aren't shit (but are at the same time).

So at least some of the OKC faithful think Nurk is one of the dirtiest players in the league? I would not have thought that. Why do they think that? Is he? Have I not been paying attention? Because I honestly haven't seen that. He likes to talk a lot, but I can't recall him taking a cheap shot at anyone. Do they think that based on his "we want to be bad boys" comment? :dunno:

Stotts has the notebook of Westbrook's therapist, I swear to god, and he just takes a page and uses it against him. Remember when he switched Dame off of Russ and put Wes on him a few years ago, and Russ was all like "he afraid of me!" and proceeds to brick eight straight shots? Stotts made a huge show of making the defensive switch, but he was just grinning like a fool while Russ self destructed.

Nurkic is our Vlade Divac or Bill Laimbeer, but with way more skill... he's going to be infuriating teams for years to come.

yeah, hes one of those players you either love or hate cause of their charachter

so far hes not well know around the league, but if he continues to play like this, soon he will become well known and the love or hate gonna get bigger... god knows I said he needs to make himself recognizable and if that type of behaviour is one way of doing it, then great

Oh, sure. Nurk's cocky attitude would be super irritating if he were on another team. But one of the "dirtiest" players in the league? Where does that come from? Since I haven't seen it, I find myself questioning whether that's due to my homer goggles? Or theirs?

The posters on s2 who 'flat out hate and disrespect' Westbrick would still call him the best pg in the league. As well as a top 5 player.
Personally though I only think Westbrick is that caliber when he's locked in on both ends.
Watching Lillard blow by him time and time again shows he's not locked in.
Getting blown by, by Lillard once or twice is fine. But Lillard was getting to the rim at will with Westbrick guarding him. So much so that Donavan took him off of him to guard CJ.
I'm reminded of Lillard's rookie year when Westbrick was posting Lillard up and scoring with ease. Portland switched Matthews onto Westbrick and your crew as a timeout was called, showed Westbrick mouthing. 'Tell him not to be scared' towards Matthews/Portland bench.

At the end of the day Westbrick is a great player, easily a top 5 player and the best PG in the league.
However it's not disrespectful to say, Westbrick makes boneheaded plays which cost his team games.

Btw, this is directly from the rulebook.

People call Har_en dirty due to his flopping also.
    They're mis-typing.

I agree with you, hes not dirty player like Dray, but maybe OKC fans have different understanding of the word "dirty" in the sports term... I wouldnt call him "dirty" or "flopper", yes he is overdramatic, so Id call him "irritating", "douchebag" or other insulting term

Yep, when Stotts made the switch, Russ made some snide comment to Dame about Terry needing to send Dame's big brother to guard him. He probably should have waited until he actually scored on Wes to start talking shit.

He would have been ejected whether it's a flagrant 1 or 2. So in reality, it doesn't matter.

He got away with it last night, but Nurk does shove guys in the back on screens and generally make himself a total nuisance. I LOVE IT. We need that attitude. And yeah he's cocky, but he's been backing it up ever since Stotts force feeds him at the beginning of the game. It's a good look for him.

Damn, I didn't even see the full stat line of nurk... yes, he had 5 turnovers, but:

25/8/3 with 3 steals and 2 blocks. Oh, and on 11/15 shooting.

Not only that but I also think the refs took into consideration how this game was heading. The timing of the elbow was a little too coincidental. Maybe the refs felt they needed to take control of the game?

OKC was pissed about something and were crying a little more than usual and not being rewarded for it by the refs. I honestly thought this officiating crew was the best I have seen in a long time. Not a lot of superstar treatment.
