Nice observation. I did see Nurk getting upset on some of the rebounds, fouls, and out of bounds plays and jawing with the refs but I didn’t see CJ talk to him.

I felt like Nurk was passive until the 4th then he just decided to turn it way up on D. RoCo and DJJ alone are not enough to shore up our defense but when all three of them get it going we look like a totally different defensive team. Sac actually had trouble getting good shots in the 4th and Nurk’s aggression spread to the whole team and even created some steals to boot.

I feel like the second unit could also have better D too if we’d
    1. Play Little instead of Hood
    2. Play DJJ/RoCo/GT more and less Melo
    3. Part of the time swap Nurk/Kanter

The goal being to have 3 defenders from (Nurk, DJJ, RoCo, GT, Little?) on the floor at all times. That’s 3x48=144 minutes. So something like Nurk 28, RoCo DJJ GT 32, Little 20. As it is now GT is often our only defender on the floor.

I'm definitely ready for us to try Little over Hood

I agree. Getting pretty obvious they have some holes to fill.
Little could give the team everything Hood is giving them at this point.
I think the DJJ/RoCo/Melo thing is incumbent on fouls to some point and also matchups. There are games like last night they needed defense but like the game before they needed offense. Jones and Roco get fouls and Melo draws them.
Nurk vs Kanter again matchups and fouls make a big difference. One thing is for certain Giles has not been great. Playing him might show improvement but can they afford to play him in a close game?

I think it's a very weak attitude to come after the game and judge the people what they wrote during the heat of the game. Very very weak mentality

If we can afford to play Hood (shooting 20% and not defending) we can afford to play Giles. He’s only played 52 minutes and some of that was garbage time. How much can you tell about a guy from that? He hasn’t been all that bad. He’s averaging 13.8 rebounds per 36, has some assists, made 2/3 threes. We let Ant play a full season of suck to see if he could turn the corner. I don’t think we should be so reluctant with Little or Giles.

Can’t argue about Hoody. He’s been pretty awful. Giles could improve I guess?
My biggest question is Little. This guy could be a diamond in the rough and his minutes would come from Anthony’s for the most part. At least I hope so?

I like that line up as well. I think Gary might have needed a breather in the 4th when Terry took him out, but I would have preferred that he put him back in after the double timeout. Sac left Jones wide open for a 3 in the last couple of minutes...which he missed.
Having said that, Jones was having a good game so I see why Terry would have stuck with him for defense and rebounding. But regardless I want 4 shooters in there with Nurk for that reason. Especially if Sac would have started intentionally fouling.

I won’t get on a game thread during the game. Chaos doesn’t even begin to describe it. I do try hard not to judge game time responses but some of them are off the hook. You have to admit that.
During the game I’m watching the game. No need to have someone else tell me what I am seeing.

I do it to release frustration or excitement. It’s cathartic. I think it’s silly for people to go back later and criticize people for things that were said in the heat of the moment. It’s like calling something a bad call because in live action it looked like a horrible call, and then you see the replay and it actually was the right call. Should the person who originally thought it was a bad call based on what they saw live be criticized?

Your game thread takes are not all that bad. Some are meltdowns complete and simple. No need to point at people speaking in the heat of a game thread.
I do like to go back and find some good takes that can be talked about.

I guess my sarcasm aimed at a certain Denver Nuggets fan didn’t come off too well.

You must have missed the other 10-20 over the last 3-4 games I guess.
