Oh, I am sure he does and I am not surprised by it. I have to say that I think the Freak like Lebron in early years gets it a bit more than other players because he is such a good show (and Shaq was too in his days). Maybe it is wrong - but it feels like with the physical specimen they give them an extra boost compared to players like Dame, Kyrie and Steph - which are more of a skills superstars but not such specimens (and I am not saying that the Freak / Lebron are not very skilled, it is just that they also have the crazy athletic abilities that other superstars do not necessarily have) - but this could be just my perception.

To establish yourself as a front court player without the ball you must get both feet across.

When you have the ball you must get both feet and the ball (all 3 points) across and established.

Until that occurs, you are considered a backcourt player subject to the 8 second rule.

Not as much as you think. He may have traveled once but that NBA step back isn't called a travel.

Putting your hand on the side of the ball is completely legal.

Thanks man! I assumed that was the case based on it not being called it's just weird to see someone cross the line with both feet but still maintain his dribble in the back court.

While we are on the subject of rules, what is the current high school rule for catching your own air ball?

I'd enjoy it a whole bunch more if he played in Black and Red with a white stripe across his jersey.

Passing to yourself is always traveling no matter what level. You may only do this if you throw it off of the front of the basket apparatus.

In the NBA and maybe WNBA you may not recover a shot that has not touched the apparatus, without being called for traveling.

College and below, a shooter may reclaim possession of the ball if it is a shot that does not touch.

I think the NBA rule should trickle down though.

Thanks again, I agree that the NBA rule should be at all levels.

In one of the leagues I play in it is mostly high school rules. A guy on the other team airballed badly and was the first to grab the ball. For some reason I had thought a few years back they did change it to the NBA rules so I asked him if that was still the correct ruling. He told me at halftime that he looked it up and that I was right that it did change slightly but only to where it is up to the ref's judgement whether to call a travel instead of simply saying if it's a shot attempt it's not passing to yourself. They are wrong about rules more than they should be (which sucks) so I like to make sure they are calling the games correctly.

Of course this is almost a daily argument at the gym where there is no referee to judge whether or not it was a legit shot attempt so I prefer to just always play that it's traveling.

They just asked “Are the Blazers for real?” on The Starters and they’re saying no, we’ll lose in playoffs again.

    Are the Starters for real?

If you answered "real shitty", you are correct.
