Nurkic has to be the most under appreciated center in the NBA. From a portion of his own teams fans expecting a complete player at 24 and nitpicking everything he does, to national media completely ignoring him, to his contract, I can’t think of anybody else. Among centers, he’s now ranked in the top 5 in PER.

Don't forget Aminu on that list too, and CJ for good measure.

Aminu hit a couple of '3's but gave up 7 or 8 to Tatum/Morris. CJ shot 40% with 1 assist. Jury is still out on those two. :bgrin:

Minus a couple uncharacteristic turnovers, Layman was solid again. Made all his shots. Was solid defensively. That euro step against Brown was noiice.

Ok. That makes more sense. I was thinking it happened in pre-game warmups.

I really liked Seth’s defense tonight, only thing I didnt like was the turn overs seemed like they had a ton.

Curry is injured and we're a game behind GS and the #1 seed.

We have played the most home games of any team but still. WOO

So are you suggesting that he "Tebowed" that game--ie, that he was a big part of the reason that his own late-game heroics were even necessary?

I felt like Stauskus did a bad job on defense in the run the celtics made, left shooters on the wing open a few times. Tatum made some really tough shots, but a lot of the open looks they had were bad rotations by Stauskus.

    Aminu played pretty well overall.

I thought Nurk was terrific. Boston had a lot of trouble with his size.

That was a bit tongue-in-cheek, but in going back and reviewing, Aminu left MorrisTatum on several of their '3's and didn't get to them in transition on a couple more. They combined to go 8-15. Stauskas was out there for a couple of them but didn't see him matched up with those two very often and on top of that, he only played 13 minutes the entire game so his chances to leave someone wide-open were somewhat limited. Layman also left Tatum open on one when he was late rotating out after a switch.

I think over time layman could be the baller Hayward is in Boston. He was featured in SLC. I now he's been out for a year but I wasn't that impressed with his D.

And we all know that this Blazers team is a very good road team. They were last year too.

This was one of those games when I am grateful it is not gymnastics or diving where they award style points. Just need one more than the other guys. At year's end when we count Blazers wins, no one will remember if it was pretty or ugly.
