Watching Lamar's post game interview, you can really see how this team is not very close and needs a change. Hopefully we can win a game or two back in LA.

Kobe has one of those three things, a good coach. But that's obviously not enough. He's going up against harder competition than Iverson was and he's doing it with much less at his sides. Hopefully next year we're not having this conversation.
Game 2 Recap - Suns 126 - Lakers 98This was a great win by the Suns. It was a incredible balanced attack and it really left the Lakers in shock at how incredible and versatile the Suns offense really is. Like last game, Leandro Barbosa (26 points) was a huge part of this victory as well as Steve Nash (16 points, 14 assists). Amare Stoudemire (20 points, 9 rebounds) and Shawn Marion (18 points, 10 rebounds) were getting what seemed like alley-oop after alley-oop from Nash. It was entertaining. Kobe Bryant really had a bad game, only scoring 15 points on 5-13 shooting. It also didn't help that nobody else on his team was able to take on the scoring when the Lakers needed them. He got his ankle tied up with Barbosa and had to leave the game early. The injury wasn't serious and he'll definitely be back for the rest of the series, but I think he was just trying to be on the safe side and because LA was losing by 30. The Lakers just never really got it going and were a victim of the Suns high-powered offense. Andrew Bynum was pretty solid off the bench, grabbing 12 rebounds though. Lamar Odom had a solid 10-10 double double. But the Suns got the upper hand in this game and now in the series, forcing the Lakers to need to take 3 straight games, which is a tough feat. This was a very tough loss to stomach for the Lakers who will want to come out strong at home. I just don't know if this team was mentally prepared for the playoffs and I don't think there is enough talent on Los Angeles to even up the series and I could see this ending in 4 or 5 games if LA doesn't step it up. If Kobe can get hot though and carry his team I could see LA taking all of their home games, losing to Phoenix in game 5 and forcing a game 7, which even if they don't win would hurt Phoenix in the long run. Game 3 should be interesting.

nash abused farmer(he was always a step or 2 behind), this is the #1 point guards competition this series(.) The lakers need a pg that can keep up with him(.) The Lakers are pretty much done for this single problem alone(.)

exactly..if anything S2S D'Antoni is the most overrated coach (at least right now)you think he's responsible for that loaded roster?his combined record before Nash came to Phoenix was 35-76
As far as Playoff Ass-kickings go, this isn't the worst one the Lakers have had. But it sure as hell was unecessary, they better bring it in game 3, or they'll add to their illustrious record as the team that has been swept more than any other.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Exactly, and that Sixers team lost. The injuries just piled up, honestly, not to many teams could survive the injury-fest the Lakers went through this year.

No..Nash created the most exciting system the league has seen for years...he's the reason they're so good...it may be exciting but it isn't neccesarily the best system...how many titles have the Suns won under D'Antoni? the system isn't balanced enough to be able to endure the long playoffs and win enough games against elite teams in the West

People kept arguing with me yesterday that Kobe was being a ballhog and that the Lakers would be a better team if he didn't shoot as much and passed the ball more. Well, there you have it. Kobe was definitely in facilitator mode in the 1st half today and look what happens. The Lakers are down by 21. The Lakers have a real dilemma here because when Kobe facilitates more than shooting, most nights the Lakers can't keep up...especially with run-and-gun teams like Phoenix. And when Kobe shoots more and keeps the Lakers in the game he runs out of gas late and just doesn't have the legs for it. It's hard to watch.</div>Players who dont shoot the ball much, dont shoot well. Its a probably a new thing for them, getting a pass from Kobe and all :happy0144:

We know that Bynum and Brown have at least some potential. Looking at Brown from 3 years ago and now you can tell he's better, though obviously still not that good.Though I suppose I just got it(revelation!). He is a well respected coach after his time in Italy (there is basketball outside the NBA you know) and has done wonders with the Suns. He win the coach of the Year award for helping to turn this team around. Also, it's not like D'Antoni has been in charge for 10 years or anything, give him some time for a title (I have a feeling if you waiy a couple of months you will see one).
