They're giving up far too many shoots. Another 40+ last night which can't continue. That being said, the goaltending advantage is huge at the moment. There's no excuse if a third stringer remains in goal for the Pens.

Anything is better than the current seeding. The NHL is in love with their bracket challenge, so do what the NBA does and still bracket. Go 1-8 in each conf, division winners are 1 and 2 seeds, and then points from there. Go with brackets if you want to instead of reseeding - 1-8 winner plays 4-5 winner and 2-7 winner plays 3-6 winner. Very simple and you won't have the best teams playing in round 1 and 2 all the time, leading to lesser teams in the CF's.

    Ridiculous.

DeSmith is now out for the rest of the playoffs, so either Jarry is back, seems unlikely for game 3, or the 3rd stringer plays again.

And I agree with you regarding no excuse to lose if the Pens have a 3rd stringer playing goalie, I will say if we don't tighten up in our own zone in games 3 & 4, we will be in huge trouble in their building, 3rd stringer or not. We have to play better D to win there IMO.

Domingue has had seasons where his save % was .908+ over a decent amount of games. So while he may be a third stringer, he's not a schmuck.

Agreed - we need to be better and tighter to win this thing. Seems unlikely Jarry back soon from a broken foot.

Sounds like Goodrow out for rest of Pens series, Lindgren day-to-day (we'll see about game 3), and Motte getting closer - maybe could play later in series.

For the Pens, Rakell and Dumoulin are day-to-day.

Dumoulin is a huge loss for them.

I think Dum and Lindgren similar boat. If one plays and the other doesn't good advantage for that team. We have more D depth with Trouba and Miller, but similar type losses.

I couldn't stand when Gallant put Hunt on the Panarin line but he played a heck of a game on the 4th line where he belongs. He was beating Pens defenseman to the puck all night. You can see that the Pens players are getting tired already of Reeves plastering them. He's had an impact for sure.

Very impressed with Reaves in the first two games. Taking the body and is a presence out there. Also, limiting Malkin skating around cheap shoting people like a moron.

Yeah, Reaves is definitely making his presence felt. Hunt looked motivated too, played very well and had a couple scoring chances.

Yes, 3 of 4 road teams winning last night is interesting to me, as is four series 2-1 currently. Big game of course, but worst case need to come home 2-2.

Shocked the Bruins won after being so outmatched.

Series should be 2-0 Rangers but it's the NHL and they love the Pens. The physical game favors the Rangers and Reaves has been great and hits clean. Igor definitely embellished as he should since there would have been no call without it. Almost as bad as the officiating was the announcers killing Igor while praising Cindy the king of flopping crybabies. I have no problem with the format if it helps ratings. The fact that there's exciting Rangers playoff hockey going on for the first time in years still not enough for the sour patch gang beating the Let's Stop Rangers drum. The injuries could give Gauthier one last chance to do something as a Ranger.

Kids have really impressive. It's the vets that have made most of the bonehead defensive plays. Can't wait for Othmann and Cuylle to join the mix as they are playoff types of players.
