Blazers - 76ers finals would be so fun to watch witch CJ on the other side. I mean, best finals ever.

one to record and save for the ages! And how cool would it be to have our only two rings(so far) be against the same team five decades apart?

barring an extraordinary shooting night from our team or really poor shooting night from phoenix suns, i cant see us winning this game

theyre too good and have a great chemistry, were learning new schemes on both ends of the floor and are yet to create chemistry

loss is fine as far as im concerned, as long as there are some positives

All of this is correct but my gut is telling me this is a Blazer win.

They do play the games for a reason and today is one of those reasons.
Blazers win this one in a barn burner.

Exactly. It's not that CJ is a bum....in fact, he is one of the most relentless, creative scorers in the league as when he plays PG when Dame is out, his numbers are very very good. But there is too much duplication for the team or the individual to excel to their highest potential.

I feel like folks on this forum have been beating this drum for some time now, in some cases years. Too bad Olshey refuses to accept this reality. If he would, the team would be better for it. In his mind, he probably feels like Dame/CJ are Splash Bros North but clearly doesn’t realize the significant limitations of our backcourt.

In opinion you can't run this defense with a small unit

    Except for tonight.
Paul and Booker are not really that much bigger.
Problem comes at SF and that still might not be a problem.

Another kidney stone game. Just grit your teeth and wait for it to pass. There are likely to be a lot of these until the team gets it together.

They will get it together - right?

Our rotation in this defense a lot time have one our small guard end up rotating under the basket and that's a problem.

Gonna be able to listen to my first game of the year tonight. Thought about bellying up to the bar somewhere but thats too much effort. Lol.

First thing I love: not hearing Terry stotts do an interview with the same. Exact. Answers. Every. Time.

    It's definitely tougher.

I also don't think Covington and Nance have the type of movement skills to be super effective on long closeouts. Both are better when they can kind of play in the gaps.

We mixed in a little bit of drop against the Kings, but I think we need to see it a little bit more plus being at the level and dropping from there instead of hedging.

Hedging killed us against Kings. I got pissed with CJ actively looking to hedge and leaving his guy.
