I think the biggest problem is the size of the lead we've allowed them to get. Our issues this game have been letting them shoot wide open threes, and turning the ball over. Those issues are not that hard to fix, but fixing them, and coming back from 15 points down is hard.

Ok well how to attack a trapping defense is literally something your taught as a PG in highschool. They need to stop sticking a big out there to screen for Dame, they need to attack the rim, If there 3-4 players on the perimeter there are plenty of lanes for back cuts, or for the ball handler to expose, if he’s trapped means there is an open man or lane. They dont attack traps at all. Every time their guards get trapped they BACK UP and allow the trapper to get into them.

Sure the roster has flaws and the trap expose some of them but it is really ugly the way they play trapping defenses. Its BAD basketball whether the talent is there or not you can at least play smart, they dont.

The screen and roll is consistently the best play for the Blazers in terms of points per possession. Why do you think they run it so much? Why do you think it looks like the Blazers struggle on offense when they play an opposing team specifically takes away the high pick and roll?

Vanterpool is right. This team does need an attitude adjustment.

For those tired of watching the Blazers. Give the Grizzlies a shot.

Jaren Jackson is a super fun rookie. Conley and Gasol's 2 man game is basketball poetry, and Bickerstaff has them running a lot intricate sets, filled with back cuts, duck ins and high low looks.

    This year's Jazz for me.

These rough Blazer stretches make me glad I'm a basketball fan and not just a Blazer fan...

You dont have to have Dame run it if the other team is selling out to trap him, you could have a plan b. You can have an outlet valve. You can have Dame not go back on his heels when a trap comes but coach him to attack. They used to do that to a young Dwade til he learned to split the trap and get to the rim by the time he was in his 2nd or 3rd year teams stopped trapping him like that.

For all you Stotts defenders watch our team on offence. Really watch them. Dame and CJ running 1.5+ miles a game and for what? It’s all 1-on-1 and iso sets on the offensive end. Denver’s getting easy shots off of simple, college-level ball movement. The defence is just atrocious (matador?) so I’m not even gonna touch that. Stotts needs to go. Ship off Aminu, Turner and half the roster with him.

Literally all of these solutions require players with the actual ability to implement them. Do you not think that if Dame could split every double team he would?

I think we need a vocal vet on the roster to hold everyone (and I do mean everyone) to account. Sometimes Dame's quiet "lead by example" style of leadership just doesn't motivate people.
