Stotts did fine actually. Called timeouts when they were needed, tore the refs a new asshole when they were screwing the Blazers over, subbed players in with pretty good timing.

Dame missed wide open shots. He got cold after a hot 1st quarter. If your blaming Stotts schemes not getting Dame open, or coming with screens, Dame was getting help on screens all night. Again he missed wide open shots and forced a few up that he made shouldn't have. He did hit a bit bucket though late, not to mention the game winning free throws.

It can be argued that Dames going cold might have well cost us the game if Melo hadn't gone supernova, but hey Blazers won. I'm not complaining.

    that's kind of true

at the same time, Immanuel Quickley, Payton Pritchard, Desmond Bane, and Saddiq Bey were all drafted after the pick Portland gave Houston last draft, and they sure look like players who could help Dame right now and for the next 3 years while on cheap rookie deals

the acquisition cost of RoCo doesn't change just because he made a timely steal last night

Eventually Rodney Hood should be starting at 3 and bring Jones off the bench. Much better shooter than Jones and defense is close. Hood is 6'8' too.

his takes are bad, but that one, based upon the description in another post, was pretty close. Aminu, for Portland, was a lot like RoCo has been so far, especially on defense. Aminu might have been a more dependable perimeter shooter; and he was a better rebounder

Forgot about him, thing about Hood he can come up huge in games like he did against Denver a few years back.
Jones at 6'5 is small as a 3 plus he's rail thin. Last night he was swatted away very easily around the hoop.

Yeah, but he hasn't been close to that denver series this year except for like 1 or 2 games. I'm not even sure I want him in the rotation at this point

The man is coming off huge injury. He's getting there, wait and see. Jones has been more of a disappointment to me thus far.

if you use Matthews as a template, Hood is going to have a ragged season. And the Matthews template is pretty common for that injury. Most players are never the same as before

Yeah, he may never be a 100% but he's moved pretty good so far, seems to have good lift and drive ability.
Gay, Wall, KD, Boogie aren't doing to bad now.

I didn't have the time to go back through the previous 36 pages, but one thing I noticed from last night's game is how helpless Lillard made Simmons look on defense. For as vaunted a defender as Simmons has been crowned, Lillard continually drove past Simmons easily and continually. Simmons was good at denying the ball to Lillard and made him work to get it, but once Lillard had it he was cooked. If I'm repeating info previously in this thread I apologize, but don't color me impressed of Simmon's D.

Aminu had his shot. Didn't cut it. Was time to move on.

Your right on about Dame schooling Simmons the 1st quarter he made him look like a fool. Yes simmons made some good defense plays but he not the defender he thinks he is.

Yes. Because after 1st quater he sat Dame down all the way until below 4 min of 2nd quaters. Stotts needs to bench dame last 2 minutes of 1st quater and have him back inside 8 minutes in second quarter. Dame went cold cause he got cold sitting on bench for long time . Remember there was 3 time outs during 2nd quater so essentially Dame sat out 20 minutes

Yeah but Dame was hot in the first quarter so if Terry took him out when he had it going he would have been crucified for it.
Dame was holding his wrist while on the bench in the 4th...... which makes me a little worried. Bottom line though he played like shit when he came back in. He forced some bad shots trying to take over. It wasn't his night. ( We could have used his duplication-CJ)

Looking at +/-, this was totally a Bench win... which is really weird.

and by bench you mean Melo and that is even weirder, at this point of his spectacular career.
