I chose to "single out" Meyers because I was responding to someone else who brought him up.

Meyers played, and has played better this season...ON OFFENSE

I have read a little bit in the "clutch" City forum on the game thread and damn, these rockets Fans still hates the Blazers and especially Lillard. They are still salty as fuck because of 2014. Can't wait to see how Pop and Kawhi beat these wannabe champions

From HTown, and most of the fans respect Dame (he's a STUD) and the Blazers. No salt from 2014, there very few players who are still on the roster from that squad. Blazers going through a rough stretch but EVERY team will. Golden St. is the team that everyone has to beat and right now, no one is close. HTown included.

We're one of the youngest teams in the NBA.....this makes no sense....year 2 of a rebuild is where we are....going back to year 1 of a rebuild isn't going to bring wins faster...smh

Youth isn't the question. It's primarily that the fit doesn't work going long term.

I was responding to this post...and I disagree with it...we need to upgrade the SF position, but not blow up the team and fire the coach to win
    Tanking is for losers.....go Blazers!

I may not be a math major, but as bad as 31 points per quarter is, it's still better than a 40-point layup drill.

If the Blazers had "only" given up 31 points in the 4th, they would have won the game.

Or if the Rockets didn't shoot 30 more free throws, we win

He's not just playing better on offense than he has in the past, he's playing better on offense than his teammates.

Given the way this team has struggled on the offense this season, giving a little more PT to a guy with a TS% of .724 might not be a bad idea.

Against HOU, the Blazers offense, with Meyers on the court, matched the high powered HOU offense with 62 points in the first half. In the first 7 minutes of the third, with Meyers in the game, POR outscored HOU by two and was leading 80 - 78 when Meyers left the game.

He didn't return in the 4th quarter and the Blazers got outscored 40 - 19. Maybe they could have used a little more of that better offense from the guy who was 5 for 6 from the field.

You win. He was great defensively. The opposing teams points say so.

It's like you don't watch the games, and just look to be an ass

Yes. Let's play him 48 a game. We'll win the title going away.

Or if we score more than 19 points in the 4th quarter we win.

Going small was playing to HOU's strength. So, of course they're better at it than the Blazers.

In the 3rd quarter, the Blazers went big, with one of Leonard or Collins on the floor at all times. As a result, POR outscored HOU 36 - 22 in the 3rd. In the 4th, neither Leonard nor Collins set foot on the floor and POR was outscored 40 - 19.

Going small was definitely the wrong thing to do. It made Portland worse at both ends of the floor and resulted in a layup drill for Houston.

Yeah, because that's exactly what I said.

    Your post is an asshole.

The guy was 5 for 6 from the field and the Blazers were winning when he left the game. They went on to get outscored 40 - 19 in the 4th. Maybe, just maybe, giving him 5 or 6 minutes in the fourth (like they did in the third, you know, when they were winning) might not have been such a terrible idea.

We all know you hate WABCs, so it must really irritate you that with our WABCs on the floor in the 3rd quarter, POR outscored HOU 36 - 22 and with them on the bench in the 4th, POR got outscored 40 - 19.

I watch the games and if stating my opinion on what I see makes me an ass, fine, I'm an ass.

Seriously, did you not watch the 4th quarter of that game? Did you not witness that 40-point layup drill?

We outscored HOU by 14 the third with Leonard and Collins in the game. With them on the bench in the fourth, we got outscored by 21. If pointing that out makes me an ass, that's a chance I'm willing to take.
