Game Thread GAME# 28: BLAZERS @ GRIZZLIES - DECEMBER 12, 2018 - WEDNESDAY, 5:00 PM, NBCSNW

I complained when Nurk only got 9 shots. So tonight he goes out and defiantly shits the bed. Well fuck you Nurk - you just joined CJ on the list as part of the problem instead of part of the solution.

I have passed Kingspeed as the biggest jinx on this board! I may never say anything positive about a Blazer player ever again.

 

This was about the 5th Blazer game in a row that I turned off before it ended.

 

Played ball last night instead of watching and left this one after the first half when they had only scored 80 points. My time is more valuable than to waste sitting through such disaster.

 

Once again I didn't watch the game but I wanted to make another general observation:
Can anyone work the numbers of how we're doing with and without Moe Harkless this season?

 

Course CJ was the only Blazer who showed up sober tonight...

 

Losses are like hangovers...you get them often enough and you want to just stop drinking altogether...but over the decades we've historically been a second half of the season team many times..we'll see but I definitely think we'll be shopping most of the roster by the deadline except for maybe 3 or 4 players. Stotts is definitely on the hot seat....I like the idea of a Chauncey Billups Bill Laimbeer duo...….I'd also consider Becky Hammon as a coach

 

C'mon Bones, small sample size! He has to shoot 47 a half before you can judge.

 

if that is what it would take...a 50 pt loss is no different from a 4 pt loss except the coach looks bad...Stotts honestly looks like he's tired of the same results just like everyone else is...with Paul gone both Olshey and Stotts might be actually wanting new landscapes..I'll bet Stotts would love to coach a team of vets for a change in a big market

 

At what point do you think Stotts has to answer for 4 straight years of bad starts? Why have to depend on a furious finish to do well?

 

Stotts isn't one of the best coaches in the NBA, he's always been a very weak coach, doesn't understand defense At All and this year, our offense looks like shit as well.
He improved in making substitutions, deciding the rotations but he's still not better than mediocre

 

So it looks like they lost.

Blazers better pick up the pace or a number of people on this board will start wanting the coach fired and major changes in the roster. They might even start asking for bench players to start getting more time?

 

A big part of the issue is offensive and defensive schemes. Don't see what benching guys would do to fix that.

Stotts would get crushed by a big market. They wouldn't put up with him the way our fans do. And Stotts is better at empowering young guys. He'd be best as a coach of a rebuilding team.

 

Bad and bad.

 

That was one of the worst shooting games for a big man in history.

Fifth game in a row I didn't turn on until the end. Not worthy investment of time.

 

I have to admit i have that feeling going this year also.
My prediction was 42-40. Not sure i even want them to make the playoffs this year. The changes/additions to the roster over the summer did not have me thinking they would be better. They needed the energy Davis brought and i felt Pat Con was everything Sauce is. Other that that i just don't see a better team.
