If Fowler who blows can get back a second as someone said. Lindgren should bring back more. They should start trying to clear a lot of cap room. Tkachuk wants out. Larkin wants out. McDavid hasn’t signed an extension which is telling. I don’t know if Drury is the guy to do it. We’ll see

There is no way to defend anyone associated with this organization right now, so go ahead and fire the coach, but it will be completely irrelevant unless the head of the snake is cutoff, and Drury is gone. Lav has been to the SCF with 3 different teams, Lav has won a SC, his credentials in his job are very good. Drury has done nothing, and has zero credentials in his job, ZERO. Let me be clear so no one is confused, I am not defending Lav at all, go ahead and fire him for this mess as everyone should be looked at and held accountable, this is an anti-Drury commentary.

Drury is the one who put the organization in this mess. Drury is the one who has had multiple head coaches. Drury is the one who has had a conveyor belt of rentals for picks roll through here. Drury is the one who decided to make the team worse after the L to the Panthers. Drury is the one who jerked Goodrow and Trouba around as he moved them, without proper professional communication. Drury is the one who has no plan, so he panicked last minute to bring in Roslovic at the DL and Smith on July 1. Drury is the one who decided to keep this old stale done core together when anyone being honest knew it had to be broken up or this season would be a disaster. That's all Drury, not Gallant, not Lav, not anyone else.

So go ahead and call for the coach's head, that is totally understandable given the crap we are watching (I am being sincere), but any firings have to start with the man in charge who put the team together, Christopher Drury, otherwise it will be a complete and total waste, and nothing will change. Drury has to be the # 1 man fired if you want this organization to win a SC.

If we are going to rebuild and trade away assets than Drury needs to be fired prior to any of that happening. He has no clue what he is doing and will make awful trades as he has his entire tenure.

If Drury made the Trouba trade, he’s not getting fired so forget about it. This isn’t his fault it’s 100% the players. They didn’t forget how to play defense and try hard. They must take responsibility for it. The fact he got what he did for Troubs was a miracle. I’m not sold that he’s a good GM at all but he’s going to get the chance to reshape this team whether you like it or not

Wait, it’s not his fault, it’s the players, but who is the guy in charge bringing in these players and fucking the team chemistry completely up by making public trades before they happen (Trouba over the summer) and telling the entire world that anyone basically is available to be traded without talking to players first (Kreider and the now infamous memo). Do I think these players are at fault? Yep. But if it’s the players at fault then you cannot blame Lavi like you keep on doing. It’s the players. And the guy to get rid of the players and trade them or resign them is Drury, but he won’t or if he does do you really think he’s getting anything worthwhile back? Trouba was a salary dump so we could overpay Igor. Great, you got rid of Trouba, which was sorely needed, but you didn’t do anything to really get the team going once again. And the whole Trouba thing became the clusterfuck it was BECAUSE Drury fucked it all up over the summer. Drury is in WAY over his head. I have seen NOTHING over the past few seasons that lead me to believe he could fix a pee-wee hockey team, let alone an NHL team.

As for him being able to reshape the team, no shit he will be given the chance to. Dolan is back to fucking up the Knicks so he has stopped caring about the Rangers. Drury is going to destroy this franchise and set it back 6 years and we will have, once again, wasted a goalie who we overpaid and handcuffed ourselves with the contract because we were too scared to go all in on a rebuild with a team that’s headed downward. We could fix this with a few moves and retool for a year or two but that’s not what’s happening here. We are going to totally fuck this up, waste Igor, waste Laf and then wonder why we can’t win a Cup.

So funny, it's not Drury's fault. He did all the things you mentioned, and all the things I mentioned. This is why the Rangers never win, because people think it isn't the Pres/GM's fault when they suck, and he has done nothing but make the team worse as an in over his head Pres/GM.

Drury is the one who majorly failed at the trade DL last season.

And sadly, he won't be fired, I agree, but that doesn't mean it isn't his fault, and he shouldn't clearly be fired, he should.

It’s about a time dumbass fans stop trying to blame the general manager and the coach for every fucking thing. These players have dogged it from day one they’re paid to do a fucking job so fucking do it. I don’t give a shit if they like the general manager. Has the coach had some screw ups this year, yes but he was forced out of his comfort zone because the players aren’t playing hard.

The Pres/GM saw what the players did to Gallant two years ago and KEPT THE SAME CORE TOGETHER. I am not sure what is not computing. He made the choice to keep the SAME EXACT CORE TOGETHER. That means it is on him as he clearly should have changed the core after the L to Florida at worst.

Now, that doesn't mean the players don't have responsibility, of course they do for sure as they are dogs now, but in over his head Drury decided, sure let's keep these core players together, and for that he is terrible and should be fired.

In your version, why have a Pres/GM since it's the players. It is the responsibility of Drury to put the right players together to win, and he has failed miserably. It was painfully obvious this core needed to change after the L to Florida, and Drury didn't do it, shame on him.

    Players can't trade themselves.
The Trouba trade was a nice net positive for the Rangers/Drury and he deserves plenty of credit for it but but outside of that there have been few tactical moves that have had a positive impact on the Rangers that can be attributed to him.

This team went out meekly in the ECF two out of the last three seasons. Sandwiched in the middle was an embarrassing first round exit against NJ. Now they brought pretty much the same core back with less depth and it’s the players fault? This team was screaming for a shake up. It shouldn’t just be Trouba. Yes, that definitely helps their cap situation but two or more veterans need to go as well.

Interesting stat about Houslley Grevy - 1495 games/1232 points but a -53, all that scoring is a wash if you don't play defense.
