?

Hypothetically, would you be willing to trade for James Harden if we don't have to give up Dame?

Yup! And that's all I ask from our offense. Pass, cut, make the right play, and we'll be able to be effectively offensively against any defense, even if we don't shoot great from 3.

But it starts with looking for it. Far too often Blazers teams in the past haven't looked for it and it hasn't seemed to be enough of a point of emphasis. Theyd show flashes, but itd never be consistent. Hopefully this is the start of something different and allows me to put to bed one of my grievances with the coaching staff.

Or maybe the no call on the kicked ball that turned into a clear path and 4 free throws going the other way?

Hell even the LeBron block that made the NBA top ten looked like a goal tend.

or that blocking foul when Lebron bowled DJJ over.

Im thinking DJJ should get to the line as much as anyone on our team. Off dribble drives or post ups he would be a handful.

That one really pissed me off at the time. Horrible call especially when right after that (or maybe right before) they called an offensive foul on the Blazers that was suspect. I thought we were in for a long night at that point. The first quarter was pretty bad as LBJ was literally shoving defenders (away from the ball) who got close to him.

I really liked how we overcame the officiating.

OT, I also really liked CJ passing the ball.

I've had multiple posts about enjoying each of the last two wins. Not sure how that post was getting over on anyone, but if you took it as an attack on you, I assure you it was not. I try to continue to be respectful in posts where I respond to you directly.

When CJ and Trent were in the game together early, CJ made some nice passes and really pushed the ball ball with I notice gave the Lakers problems.

Could you call him and ask for the true story as to who wanted Oden and who didn't? I just can't seem to let go of this....

I think you have to wait for 30 games instead of just 3 to make that kind of assumption about a light going on. He ball hogged a little last night, but more often he also made the easy and obvious passes to the hot hand in Trent. That's something he has failed to do, for the most part, in his first 7 seasons

by the way, CJ's FT rate so far is only 15.5%. His career mark is 16.7% and he's been better that this season 5 times in his career. You might be stretching to give him credits. He is shooting more three's, but more importantly, his assisted FG rate is almost at 50% (48.4%). His career mark is around 35%. I'd like to see him closer to a 60% assisted FG rate.

my guess is that there was some come-to-jesus demands directed at CJ from the coaching staff and maybe even the GM's office and Dame about what a backup PG is supposed to do. It's an easy ask when a player is as hot as Trent was tonight. But what happens when Melo comes back and the iso-offense ratchets way up in the 2nd unit? Will CJ regress bask to MeJ when backups aren't torching the net?

Hahaha... That thought has crossed my mind. I really wanted to find out what went down with Tom Penn and him being let go as well.

Sadly, I don't think he'd remember who I am and would hang up on me (rightfully so!)

Just checkin’ in to see how many suicides S2 had before halftime last night. I checked this thread with about 3 minutes left in the first quarter and I thought I was wandering through Jonestown after liquid refreshments time. Glad to see at least a couple of folks have backed away from the edge of doom and hysteria......at least until the next game......the first half of this thread was some of the most entertainment I’ve had since......well, since the last game thread. I love my Blazers but not to the detriment of my mental and emotional health......

I would love a live feed of some of you guys who like to visit a game thread the next day and comment on posts that were made during the heat of the moment.

So you're telling me you don't get angry at officials?

You're telling me you don't curse Stotts ever?

You're telling me you don't get frustrated with CJ when he goes 1 on 4?

You just don't make posts for us to go back and reference at a later time. Bully for you. I highly doubt you're sitting there when we're down 20 in a game with a big grin on your face.

I am sure everyone is disgusted at the same things. I think the difference is a lot of "absolutes" that get thrown around on a play-by-play basis. Like being 'done with the team' when they get down early, or 'please dump this guy now' after he starts 0-3, etc. I think more general statements seem to be reasonable, like "i hate slow starts" or whatever. The sky falls very quickly with some vs others. My gripe yesterday was just the unpredictability of this team - not knowing who's going to show up. I am hoping that settles down in the next few weeks.
