No, that was the lineup that closed the game when Whiteside fouled out.

Oh i was thinking he went to that in the third also. I could be mistaken?
Yes he had to go there after whiteside fouled out. That makes more sense.

He played 3 fucking minutes last night. Quit being a hater 3 games into the season. This forum never fails to amaze me at the amount of whining over such meaningless things.

I don’t hate stotts, but guess if Tolliver is going to be in the rotation tonight or not.

Well, when you only have one opportunity it's tough to determine the best time, but certainly glad he hadn't used it and it was available as without it, this game would likely be a loss. Huge play and what makes it great, Cuban was whining about it after the game.

My thinking is in line with this; I would much rather be called a really bad player than a lazy player.

I put Skal when I meant to say Baze. When Whiteside fouled out we didn't play a big the rest of the game. Who knows how it would've played out differently but we did give up an offensive rebound to Finney-Smith in the closing seconds (on the challenge play) that could've been the difference in the game.

I watched that play and Lillard was the one who failed to box out Finney Smith who came in from the 3 point line.

Honestly, we're fine playing with Dame/CJ/Baze/Hood at the 1-4, at least defending on plays. Most teams that play stretch 4s will not take advantage of the height mismatch in the post because the stretch 4 just stays on the perimeter. No matter who you switch onto them, they will still be able to get a good contest. The problem with the small lineup is defensive rebounding, especially when the center in that lineup is most likely going to be on the perimeter in a rebounding situation.

Posting up has become a lost art with so many teams relying on the 3 point shot now days. It could definitely be an advantage for a team. I remember when Phoenix would put Nash on Batum in the playoffs and his lack of ability to post up didn't allow us to take advantage. More players should work on the ability to post up as it will force teams to play defense more straight up.

Dame says something interesting at the end here. Basically said in the past, they would just stick to their defensive principles, drop the big, force midrange shots etc. etc. all the no defensive adjustment stuff we as fans would get frustrated with Stotts's about. But in this game they started switching it up, they would switch random screens and change their defensive coverages mid game, which is what we as fans have been asking for FOREVER.

    Could Stotts be.....learning?

No one's being a hater. It's constructive criticism. Stop being so sensitive that fans can't even criticize the team. 3 minutes last night lead to 15 points. The game before and the game before that he played too and sucked. Quit making excuses and trying to minimize it.

So you are saying he was responsible for 15 points by the opponent? Was he the only one on the floor? Plus minus isn't a very good stat to determine how effective an individual player is and especially when it is only 3 minutes.

    It's only been THREE games.

Well Vanterpool was in charge of the defense in years past. I can't remember who's in charge now but maybe they're more comfortable changing things up during the game.

DUDE. I actually WATCHED the game. It's way more than stats. He's been horrific the prior 2 games as well too. It would be one thing if we didn't have another viable option but Stotts seems to "toy" with a player on our team every year. Skal is so much better than he's getting credit for and he should be getting the minutes over Tolliver. Unfortunately, now that Zach is out I think we'll be seeing both.

Tolliver couldn’t catch a pass last night...he honestly looked like maybe the worst player in the league. I hope he turns it around

DUDE. I watched the game as well so not sure what your point is and how that changes the FACT that Stotts only played him 3 minutes last night and still ONLY THREE games into the season. I will agree Tolliver hasn't looked good, but way to early to whine about it and it appears Stotts has made an adjustment as well. Some of you just need something to whine about to be happy. I find my happiness in the results. You should try it.
