That is, you push the ball upcourt and not let the Celtics set up on D. Unfortunately, the Celtics have had little trouble catching up with the Nets players getting back on D against those fast breaks.
6 points in the 4th quarter. That's when u know you can't hang with a team, Boston decided to start trying, and Lawrence Frank decided to start coaching, both of which killed us
Nets don't seem to have any zone busters. They got shots over the zone, but geez... Wright airballed his last one.
You guys can check out my game recap by clicking this link. As for the Nets fans here, I'm pretty convinced that most of you guys are in need of Prozac. I kid, I kid. In all seriousness, good game and I love the activity you guys brought to the game thread.
just got in a few minutes ago. I have to say, as frustrating as it was at times, the first 3 and a half quarters was fun basketball! The one ref must have given Doc Rivers a blowjob though. Needless to say, I left the game with 3 minutes to go. That's bad. I never leave early. I just knew there wasn't a chance. BUT...the Nets did win the 1st and 3rd quarters, and to me that shows they can hang...not win, but hang. Perhaps a win will come the fourth and final time they meet- the last game of regular season. Josh Boone is the man. If it weren't for him, they wouldn't be in the gaem at all.
Solid win for the Celtics against a feisty Nets squad. I'm going to the Wizards - Celtics game tomorrow, should be fun seeing Boston in person. I'm hoping the Wiz will at least be able to put up a fight, we haven't really been badly blown out yet since Gilbert's injury so maybe we'll only lose by single digits.
Just came back from the game, here are my thoughts/points: 1) Boone is starting to be hated like people hate Collins in the sense that he now gets booed at the FT line 2) The section I was in (123) was awesome, it was filled with angry Nets fans who LOVED to yell. In fact, Mrs. Kiddsbabymama walked by with TJ and the kids, and a teenager in front of me points and goes "Hey! She's pregnant!" yikes. 3) Boone must have had 3-4 blocks on Big Baby alone. 4) Carter was a no-show in the first half, but that wasn't a bad thing. We didn't need him to score because others (Malik, Boone, Boki) were stepping up. Once Vince got the opportunities, he started off on fire... 5)...but at the exact same time the team went cold, so did he and I can't really explain it. Initially I'd say its because around that time KG came back into the game, but the Nets were playing a perimeter-oriented drive-and-kick style game that shouldn't have been affected that much by KG's presence; open shots just didn't go in. 6) The refs were HOOOOORRRIBLE. That "Kidd Charge" play got me up and screaming at them so much that my sister had to tell me to calm down. Still, they weren't the reason we lost the game.
I was at this game and stayed until the end. Hell of a W for Boston. Down big in the first Q. Closed the gap by the half. Closed the deal in the 4th quarter with nasty D. The Nets were turning the ball over left and right, and getting frustrated and committing dumb fouls. 30-4...love it.
and I can not say enough about Big Baby (thanks AGAIN Danny!). The steal of the draft. Just get him the ball under the basket and he'll find a way to get points. He's one big Tommy Point.
