I spent a couple of weeks there in the late 70's. Nice town in the mountains IIRC. I was traveling with a friend who had a friend in the art school there. Lots of ex-pats living there then

That was some impressive free throw shooting last night from both teams. What an embarrassment.

I miss my community garden that had a view of a lake and the Black Sea and Bear Mountain and a lot birds in the nearby forests. Last night I dreamed I got back there somehow and I wanted to see what had changed in my garden in the last 7 1/2 years.

I often dream of and miss my old homes in Hawaii and Taiwan ....a place becomes a part of your DNA after calling it home!

I know Krushchev was; there was a beautiful statue of him sitting on a bench with his grandson in the park near me; I'm guessing the Russians have taken it down; they are still mad at him for dissing Stalin.

I see Brezhnev was also born in Ukraine. Oh, another reason Krushchev unpopular with Russians; he is the one who gave Crimea to Ukraine!

I'm not sure...I just remembered vaguely from history classes I'd taken about Breshnev speaking praisingly about his homeland and I thought it was Ukraine...good chance he did that, I'd have to look it up.
