I noticed this very thing. Stotts screaming and waving his arms at guys from the sideline telling them to get up on him.

Seems to be a familiar theme in Rip City

Why? He's asking the question that nobody else seems to be asking. It's ridiculous that nobody is holding Terry's feet to the fire for his shit defense and stale offense.

He answered the rest of the questions fairly normally. I don't recall hearing Dwight ask a question, he's the other guy who gets salty responses from Stotts. As I mentioned earlier, Dwight was tweeting when the Blazers were down double digits, but suddenly could not tweet during the historic comeback.

Sure. You keep thinking that. Quick isn't asking questions. He's making statements and assumptions. Then he will twist it into something else to try and sound like he knows something.
Jason Quick is still Jason Quick no matter who he is writing for.

I know you'll agree, but Olshey is the one responsible to hold the coaches feet to the fire, not the media.

I do think it's fair for Quick to ask a question about why the Blazers struggle on defense.

I think Dwight has been exceptionally bad at doing that this year. It goes back years when he felt Stotts was holding back Meyers. I believe he even came on the radio talking about how Spoelstra would unleash him. After Meyers had a nice little stretch for Miami, Dwight was so happy. Turns out, he's still pretty much the same player in Miami. This is a common theme. People think the coach is holding back Meyers, Gaberial, Laymen, etc. but it rarely turns out to be true.

At this point I don't care whose job it is. Nobody is doing it. The whole organization is sleep walking and realistically it's because of our AFK ownership. I don't blame Jody because this isn't Jody's passion. She inherited it, but unfortunately without a driving force from ownership, the whole organization has fallen into this complacent rut. If Dame wasn't carrying this team on his back, we would be at the bottom of the league and people would be getting fired because of how obvious it is.

Terry had every right to snub Quick after the article he wrote....fuck Quick...he might want to consider that this coach has coached Damian Lillard for his whole career and look at the result. How so many people can dislike and bash the guy for just under a decade and still call themselves "Blazer" fans is beyond me. Terry gets fired I'll deal with it but what's hard to deal with is those who can't stop heckling him...maybe find a coach with a team you like. With a roster you like.....when you get done bashing Melo and Enes and everyone else that's helped us win more games than we've lost...explain how this team is keeping your attention? If a restaurant has a lousy chef and lazy staff and bad food....do you keep going back there every week for 9 years to eat?

there is antagonistic history between Jaynes and the Blazers, but it goes back a lot further than Meyers. Jaynes was a friend, and fan, of Rick Adelman. And while Adelman was coach, Jaynes was a real Blazer homer. But when Adelman was fired, Jaynes crossed-over to the anti-Blazer management side of things, and even would occasionally do a hit piece of Paul Allen.

Jaynes was also a close friend of David Kahn. Kahn worked as a sportswriter for the Oregonian when Jaynes worked there. They also had kind of a symbiotic partnership in the failed effort to lure a major league baseball team to Portland. IIRC, Jaynes was also part of Kahn's real estate ventures in Portland. And when Kahn was President/GM of the Timberwolves, he was always feeding pro-wolves spin to Jaynes that at times was pretty anti-Blazer; the apex of which was probably the Batum offer-sheet kerfuffle

Since Adelman was fired Jaynes has trashed just about everybody in the upper levels of Blazer management and coaching, including Whitsitt, PA, and KP. Jaynes was the original Portland-sports muckraker before Canzano

Quick has been great ever since he moved to the athletic, anyone that doesn’t think so either has an agenda against him or is just a huge homer. He’s the only one that’ll ask tough questions and he’s also the only one that cares enough to write about the players lives beyond basketball. Portland media is sheltered garbage otherwise.

You know what's funny? I have never once told someone they're not a fan of the team. Not once. Whether they're a homer or a "hater" I have never told them they're not entitled to their opinion and questioned their loyalty to the team. I have noticed that seems to be the trend with all fans who are critical of the team.

The only people who have ever done that are homers. They think that being a fan means blind support for the team.

Wow, reading this thread it’s almost impossible to believe we won last night. Silly me, 66 years old and I just now became aware of the fact that wins need style points to count in the standings. Who knew???
