Just didn’t finish in the second period it’s gonna happen. These are the playoffs. You’re not gonna sweep every round.

End it in 5 at MSG with Rempe back in the lineup. Brodzinski didn’t screw up, but he wasn’t noticeable either. Brodzinski only played 8 minutes. If you can’t play Rempe 8 minutes then he shouldn’t even be on an NHL roster.

I feel the same way, plus you never want to tempt fate, especially when we were close to ending it tonight, and when a series continues there is always a shot something can happen. That is why my word is disappointed. I also think game 5 is very large. To me when a series is 3-0, I don't really consider it back to a tight series until it is 3-2, if it gets there. That is why this needs to end in game 5. No one wants to be back on a plane to Carolina for a game 6 Thursday with them having all the momentum. The next flight I want the Rangers to take is most likely game 3 in Florida.

It's more disappointing that it ended as a result of a late pp, whereas if it ends 5/5 in OT maybe it's slightly easier to swallow. Not a very crisp game but they were still right there.

I agree on the late PP goal makes it tougher/more disappointing. If they never came fully back and fell short, I wouldn't be as disappointed I don't think, that makes it sting a bit more. But and this is where I look at the positives, it shows something that we did battle back from a terrible flat start and a 2-goal deficit. Also, if they were going to score, it could be good the Canes scored on the PPG, as they were due for one now maybe this will be their one, assuming it doesn't lift their PP confidence.

Definitely a slow start, not surprising that Trouba gets all the hate while Lindgren stinks it up again taking a soft penalty that cists the Rangers the lead late. Trouba was signed to address the Rangers lack of physicality which he's been elite and he's one of the best shot blockers in the NHL (by a wide margin this postseason). Lav's silliness with Rempe is reminding me of Torts with Avery, the MSG crowd loves Rempe and gets loud when he's out there, he's obviously the better choice for the limited minutes of a 4th liner. Reports said Chytil was sick, hope the Rangers are very cautious with him. Better to close it out as MSG with tiny Tony's tears resurfacing the ice anyway.

I understand the Canes are the team facing elimination, but I think game 5 is almost as much of a must win for the Rangers, and IMO the Rangers have pressure on them to finish this at home in game 5. No one wants to deal with going back to Carolina, with them having momentum, and being one big 60-minute effort at home away from forcing an anything can happen game 7, where the Canes would have a ton of momentum. Big game for the Rangers to win, and I think they will come out and play well.

I'll also add, you have to figure that Trocheck and especially Panarin will play much better in game 5. Game 4 was old Panarin in the playoffs, going East West and making high risk passes that are not smart playoff hockey, I am confident we'll see a much better Panarin in game 5.

Maybe some good news on Chytil:

The news on Filip Chytil is, tentatively, positive.

Rangers coach Peter Laviolette said Sunday that Chytil is feeling better after missing game 4 of the series against the Hurricanes with illness, per Dan Rosen.

Laviolette was hopeful that the Czech could return to the lineup for Monday’s Game 5.

"As far as I know he's feeling better today and we'll see how he is tomorrow," Rangers coach Peter Laviolette said Sunday. "I hope (he can be an option Monday), but I don't have an answer on it now. From what I understand he was feeling better last night, feeling better this morning."

That would suck if it's concussion related. I feel now like we are really into the playoffs after a loss. Some pressure finally on the Rangers. I think they will respond.

Interesting stat, Trouba has been on ice for the past 7 Canes goals, one dman on for 7 straight Canes goals, that's a lot.
