Now it gets very difficult. Just better not killing themselves with a seven game first round.

Definately will have to be more sharp going into round 2.

I know we said it the last game but was shocking how absolutely invisible Ovechkin was.

100%....they got away with being shaky in their own zone because Washington has very low offensive ability....they are not going to have that luxury next round.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ovechkin retires in another year or two.

The Caps are not a very good team, but I don't care, whenever you get a sweep in the NHL playoffs it is noteworthy and a great performance. Now it gets real. I figure we'll be off until at least this weekend, maybe Friday assuming the Canes finish off the Isles on Tuesday night in game 5. That is why I was so adamant I wanted the top seed in the East, it is a HUGE edge for us we got to play the worst team in the playoffs by a decent margin. Now we play only 4 games, and get some time to relax, and limit the wear and tear. Very important we got the top seed, now we'll see if it pays off against the Canes.

I think that series is going to be a very difficult series, one where the Rangers need to be on their A game to win. The key to beating the Canes is quick decisions and quick puck movement. Their game is pressure in your face, and more pressure in your face, you don't have a lot of time even on the PP. Have to be quick and smart. If we are we can win that series, but we have to bring it. I truly believe the winner of that series has an excellent chance to win the SC, that is how good I think the two teams are, and the one that wins will earn it big time.

He's up there...whichever season it is he breaks Gretzky's goals record will be his final season.

He probably should at this point for the caps to get better. It’s The same when Mess did not want to retire to chase records and the team sucked beyond belief

Yeah, he'll pass Gretzky, and then retire I'd say. I don't see him leaving until then.

Great win taking care of business, the Crepes threw everything they had at the Rangers but the better team won. All the talk about getting Rempe was just talk and Wilson shows his true colors going after the least physical Ranger. It would be nice if Roy can rally the Fstix to at least take it to the Canes physically and extend the series.

Rempe will not work going forward. The 4th line doesn't have any offensive line pressure I'd put Cuylle on that line. I'd like to see Chytil back on the third line.

The Rangers are 4-0 postseason (17-2-1 reg season) with Rempe in the lineup, Chytil can do all the skating he wants but to suggest he's ready for postseason play after missing 6 months is beyond ridiculous.

So, you wouldn't ever put him back in during the postseason Panzer, even if the Rangers trail the series? By the time the Canes series starts Chytil would have been cleared and practicing fully for 3 weeks. If you don't put him back in early in that series, especially if we lose game 1 or game 2 let's say, at what point do you put him in? Based on your comments it seems you would say you do not put him in, which is a reasonable opinion. As you mentioned, practicing after not playing for months is not even close to the same as playing in the playoffs. That's a bar Chytil can never achieve, as no matter when he returns, he'll always being playing in the playoffs after missing months (unless you don't play him until next season).

Once again, I find it very interesting to see what Lav does.

If the Rangers fall behind with this President's trophy team I don't think Chytil would help much more than Brodzinski. I would be concerned for Filip's long term health, his last concussion didn't even involve a blow to the head.

Fair, see you next year Chytil is your take. Not crazy. I differ only because I say if you have him, you might as well take the shot and see if you could catch lightning in a bottle, as unlikely as that may be. Again, I only do that with the knowledge that he is cleared medically (which he is right now) and good to go health wise. But I have moved to the camp of I wouldn't play him until we lose a game, why mess with something that isn't broken.
