Who said he was the next Larry Bird? Do you have an actual quote of someone saying that?

    I'll wait.

The Blazers looked pretty sharp until Evan Turnover came into the game. The blazers slipped and never recovered. That 2nd unit has been a turnover machine his year. They might be better off playing CJ in the old McMillen Roy iso game. At least he could get a shot up.

I agree, he's better than Larry. If anything, Larry is a poor mans Jake the Snake Layman.

(I am not accepting "Jake The Make" as his nickname! NO!)

Jake the Snake is the default nickname of anyone named Jake though. It's played out and you can think of something better than that.

Since we're talking about a guy who is, as of yet, a bench warmer on the team, I hope you realize I'm not being serious about the nickname thing.

And if history is any teacher, Stotts won't play him again for another month or until Portland is up by 20 or down by 30.

I'm happy for Layman and i like his shooting form, but i refuse to get hyped, most of those were practice shots.

I wanted us to sign Ian Clark in the summer, I hate the Warriors.
Right now i would probably trade Turner,Crabbe,Meyers,Pat and Tim...:dammit:

    Oh, and fuck KD!

Honestly I wasn't sure, "the snake" is the nickname everyone gives a guy named Jake it seems.

So apparently he's not. Our defense is a disaster.

That is not exactly true. I am sitting here with the replay on my computer as we speak and ET was not an issue when he first came in. Dame was still running the show at that time with ET, Harkless,Plumlee and Crabbe. It was a few minutes later when GS took control with Dame, ET, Davis, Vonleh, and Crabbe all on the floor. Our bench players all missed their first shots while theirs did not. (Ian Clark came out firing)

Very combative. Start with some decaf. No one said he was Bird. I jusy meant let's calm our jets on him until he gets scouted and plays against real players when the game still matters. Great job last night though.

After watching the game, I can see we definitely need to make a trade. Here's the one I think we should make:

    This Year's Aminu + This Year's Harkless
    for
    Last Year's Aminu + Last Year's Harkless

LYA was stretching the defense, scoring buckets, and his O inspired him to play great D. LYA did overdribble a bit, but I'll live with it! TYA is making some good defensive plays, but is killing us on O.

LYH was outhustling everyone, solidifying our starting lineup. TYH is a borderline NBA player.

How about this: he's Jake The Make only while his FG% stays above 50%; after that we can pick a new one that doesn't involve snakes. (Maybe we call him Bake The Cake?)

Does anyone else feel like Curry's body language so far this season doesn't have the confidence it has had in the past? He seems more serious and less "cocky".

Jake Layman is better at basketball than current, 60 year old Larry Bird.

I just read the thread in one take (I slept through the game) and I have many deep thoughts to add.

How ya feeling, oh emotive one?

Your golf course excuse is getting shady.

Big Ed really gets his groin. Fixed it! Yuk yuk!
