CJ only (relatively speaking) had 13 attempts tonight. He’s still a useful player when used properly. Didn’t really notice him hopscotching tonight. I like it.

Sean Marks only watches Blazers games. He wants all our players.

No point in going over the tax if the coach ain't playing him and putting him in a position to succeed. Hopefully Stotts doesn't pull the plug on Layman after one bad game like he's prone to do.

Stotts knows what he's doing. Layman playing with desperation because he doesn't want to be yanked. He's challenging Jake.

Jake Layman has a style that Tim Duncan, Larry Bird, John Stockton and Kawhi Leonard all had or have in that they talked with their game....they just shut up and dance...they are not trash talking loud mouths ...mouth shut, eyes wide open kind of players are rare in the NBA but usually see the court really well

When you get a player that scores at 3 layers and plays average D and continue to improve there rebounding you don't trade them. This what we got in Layman and starting do it on regular basis.

Allen Crabbe is like that close friend you had that moved away to take a better job across the country. But then you realize he really wasn't as good a friend as you thought he was. That's happened to me a couple of times.

The way you push Russ Westbrook on this forum you would think he is the real "Mrs. HCP."

Blazer wins are always a good thing!
Blazer wins with a triple double is even better.

Jake was the 47 pick in the 2nd round. Maybe Neil has found another diamond in the rough?
He has versatility in the game and is very athletic, you can tell with confidence and, no fear, he could end up a really nice contributor come playoff time.

Layman is very much like Ginobili in a bunch of ways. Except 3 inches taller.

in what way is Layman like Ginobili?

Jake just had his first three consecutive game stretch in double figures. And he's scoring but nothing else. Ginobili was an elite playmaker in Europe. He was Harden before Harden.

I have a cynical theory about GMs who like to draft "prospects."

If they draft an NBA ready player, and he flops, that's on the GM. If a prospect flops (see Leonard) the GM just whines about the stupid, impatient fans. Of course, if the long shot actually pays off the GM gets to pretend to be a genius.

Doing it when you have a coach not that committed to developing young players is asinine - but I have ranted enough about Stotts' handling of Collins.
