Had the same general reaction. It's funny how those who like to bash the organization always pass off conjecture (and conspiracies) as fact. Telling, actually.

You are the one that went with the "Just selling tickets to keep people entertained" route.
    What do you expect? :dunno:

he had one season that is so far above his norms that you have to suspect that one season was an aberration and what he did last year and this year was a natural regression to norms. That's actually pretty common for NBA perimeter players...many will have career years they never come close to matching again. Portland learned that the hard way by signing Evan Turner after his career year in Boston, and clearly, he is not nearly as good as that year suggested.

as far as changing CJ's game for the better...I've been suggesting that. I mean, I'd rather see him traded, but if the Blazers keep him they have to look at what he does that far above NBA average. He actually only does one thing excellently and that's the spot-up shot. All the praiase for his clever ball-handling and dribble penetration is misplaced in my view because the numbers show he's not as good at it as it would seem when wowed by his ball-handling

And you know what bones bro, his supporters here who point to that a lot seem to ignore some critical context: that being that while CJ does get most of his offense on his own, he's below average while doing so. The league average for TS% was in the 55-56% range. CJ's 53.6% TS rate was 20 points below that. And that comes after accounting for the fact that CJ's spot-up points/possession rate was in the 98th percentile in the league. So, even after accounting for his extremely high efficiency as a spot up shooter (13.2% of his offense), the rest of his offense drags his efficiency well below the league average and most of that is created by himself.

(From last season) there's nothing there that screams this guy should be creating 67% of his offense on his own. Just the opposite actually. And as far as value attached to the assisted FG rate, that only goes so far. Dame had an even lower assisted FG rate then CJ, yet he simply crushed CJ in PER, TS%, points/shot, winshare/48, and value over replacement. Klay Thompson had an assisted FG rate over 80% but he has more value then CJ.

the problem, again, is that CJ goes one-on-one a ton, and when he does, he's doing so with low efficiency (hello @dviss1 )

If you're using this season alone, you're cherry picking. And don't tag me in shit that has your cherry picked stats.

I don't really like you as a poster. Since you've been here I've seen nothing but negativity and haterism.
    So no...

Furthermore, asking me to be nice to you after you personally insult me WHILE tagging me isn't going to garner you one thing...

I literally just said he wasn't efficient a year ago but was 2 years ago. Or do you think someone shooting almost 50% on FGs and 42% on 3s isn't efficient because he doesn't get enough FTs? C.J. hasn't been isolating much at all this year. He's been missing shots in the flow of the offense.

I like that you're actually trying to provide substance though.
